  • The 90s Are All That

The '90s Are All That is a programming block that airs nightly on TeenNick. The block shows reruns of classic Nickelodeon shows from the 1990s, airing in a two-hour block running every night from 11pm to 1am, also airing in an encore from 1am-3am. The block derives its name and logo from All That, a popular sketch comedy series that ran on Nickelodeon from 1994 to 2005.

The creation of the block, which debuted the night of July 25, 2011 (early July 26), was inspired by a large amount of interest in classic Nickelodeon series from the 1990s by users of social media outlets such as Facebook. From October 7, 2011 through October 23, 2011, the block aired in an earlier time slot, from 10 p.m. to midnight. Response to the debut was very positive; hash tags pertaining to the block became trending topics on Twitter and the Nielsen Ratings for TeenNick on the debut night increased to between eight and 60 times the ratings TeenNick received in previous weeks, beating numerous higher-profile basic cable programs in the same time slot.

Some of the animated programming that is scheduled to be included in the block in the future was, at the time of the block's launch, already airing in overnight marathons on sister network Nicktoons, a practice that began in summer 2010. The Nicktoons marathons existed simultaneously with The '90s Are All That through August 2011, but have since been removed from the schedule. From Monday 4 February 2013, Nickelodeon (UK & Ireland) started to broadcast The '90s Are All That block with The Amanda Show, Clarissa Explains It All and The Journey of Allen Strange, airing from 10:30pm through to midnight. The block was not advertised, and is not branded. It then ended on 15 April 2013.

    Future programming

Shows that have been released exclusively on the block's website and are expected to be included in the block include:
    Wild and Crazy Kids
    My Brother and Me

Other shows previously mentioned or alluded to as series that would be included in the block but, to date, have not appeared include:
The Adventures of Pete & Pete
    Weinerville
    KaBlam!
    Cousin Skeeter

In most of these cases, rights issues have proven to be an obstacle to clearing reruns. Pete & Pete, for instance, used such an extensive music library that securing licensing rights for all of the music proved to be prohibitive (a similar factor forced the musical guests to be cut out of the block's reruns of All That). Likewise, the numerous animators who were involved in KaBlam! would each need to give their permission to air their contributions if the show were to air, and a similar situation exists for the cartoons that had been used in Weinerville (the rest of that show remains in the ownership of its host and creator, Marc Weiner).

The Amanda Show was originally set to be included in the block but has instead aired separately in its own, varying time slots during TeenNick's daytime lineup.

Re: The 90s Are All That

That would be a fun show block. I remember watching Clarissa, Sabrine and Kenan & Kel and some pieces of The Amanda Show, those shows were broadcasted here too. I've never heard or seen those other shows you mentioned.
Magnús: - I have fans of all ages and I don't think it's weird when older people like LazyTown.
LazyTown appeals to people for many different reasons: dancing, acrobatics, etc.

Wake me up when Pete & Pete airs.
Everybody needs a little time to play around. Have to heat it up, better burn it up. Cool it down.

Re: The 90s Are All That

I use to watch it every night when they had Kenan & Kel and All That at 9pm and 9:30pm my time until they changed the schedule. Then I only watched Kenan & Kel on Saturdays only.

My favorite 90s Nick shows that they have shown so far or about to show are:
        Legends of the Hidden Temple
        Salute Your Shorts
        Kenan & Kel
        Figure It Out
        All That
        Hey Dude
        Clarissa Explains It All

I'm glad Step by Step is back on. TV needs more watchable sitcoms.
