lol, I wondered if that would get a mention again this year ;)

The poster is simply reminding people that a myriad of beliefs and customs snow-balled into the modern version of Christmas.
It's not trying to debunk anyone's beliefs.
It is saying that it's okay for anyone and everyone to celebrate Christmas, no matter what they believe.
I am extremely glad you joined this forum.
Getur einhver annar verið Glanni ? það bara passar ekki
Stefan Karl Stefansson, það er enginn eins og þú!
Yes, that's why I stated my own opinion about what CHRISTmass means to me.

As I wrote, I know that the secular for of Christmas is a blend of different traditions.
The problem is this: when you strip something of it's meaning, it becomes empty...I don't do empty traditions. For me (and many others), that name is related to something, when people don't like that meaning of something, they should change the name.
That's my view, take it or ignore it, I guess.

No fighting going on, just a silly little difference of opinions ;)
Christ's Mass, or Christmas, as others have changed it to, is on december 25...btw, I'm pretty sure Islam has a holiday (or holy day?) around december too...am I right?

I know the jews have Hanukkah (I don't know what it means...) and there is also Kwanzaa?
Please stop calling me secular in a derisory way, all I ask.
I wasn't. And I was talking about the poster. And the website that produced it.
I don't use "secular" as an insult, just as a means to differentiate from religious people...I hope that makes sence.
To get the full effect you have to roll the r for an obscene amount of time.
I guess that means you are pwned...the name means "Christ bearer" in greek.
I like to see how much christianity has actually affected european culture...although, the old pagan faiths also got in - like the weekdays names in english...or wedding wrings.
