Hey guys, I'm RobHomeboy94. XD I am a moderate fan of LazyTown. My first episode was a CBS airing of Sports Day around September of 2004. It kinda got me hooked with its colorful characters, catchy music and the morals it exemplified well. I watched the show through CBS (our family didn't have cable at the time) and through the first 4 DVDs Paramount released. I also had the poorly put together US album (The international ones are better) and a birthday card featuring Sportacus and Stephanie.
Even though I was around 10 at the time I started watching this, I really didn't care the age limit on it since, I see it as a show that has NO age limit. (The original anyway) I tuned out of it around 2008-2009 when Nickelodeon gave up on airing it and let Sprout get their hands on it.
When it was acquired by Turner, I kinda wanted to see how it went. Sure, Stephanie wasn't gonna be the same person, but still, it would be fun to see. Sadly, it was....disappointing. Now, I'm not blaming Stephanie's current actress, Magnús Scheving, Stefan or any of the cast and crew on this, I blame Turner. The episodes now seem rushed in my mind and it just doesn't have the same charm it did back when it was introduced worldwide over 10 years ago.
Of course, I am older then I was back in 2004, but from a personal experience of analyzing children's television spawning over many genres (Everything from Thomas The Tank Engine to Power Rangers), these are the things that I witnessed.
Nevertheless, I still like the songs, the action and the overall humble messages it displays. I just don't like the current episodes. It's a good wholesome show and if they're playing them, I try and catch the original episodes on NBC or on Telemundo (Yes, I like hearing the voices dubbed in Spanish.)
And plus hey, Robbie is the man XD
Hope to be communicating with many of you very soon.
