I was one of the million people who read the book when it came out in 2012, when nobody cared about refugees like the way we do nowadays, and I remember it as a funny story criticizing German society, how the press works in Germany and criticizing Bild and so on. That was it. I believe the movie, although based on the book, is somehow different and is more from this time. I've seen some short fragments and at first it was quite funny when he walked around and we see people react differently, but along the way you see the dark side when, for example, he's surrounded by so called neo-nazis and he tries to encourage them. I know most of them are actors though but still it's a realistic view of how things can escalate in reality, especially now with the refugees. They couldn't have released the movie on a better time I think.

had the chance to watch this movie last weekend...the movie has the "Borat" format (of course without the Jew jokes) and was halfway funny...the actor can't fill Bruno Ganz shoes though...on the other side "The Downfall" wasn't meant as a parody so it is not fair to compare them

Back then, they really knew what they were doing. All the best riffs come from the 80s, at least all the ones that get stuck in your head. Maybe that's why I'm so obsessed with LazyTown, they almost seem to have the same idea regarding hooks.

You have to have a catchy hook in every song, in order to make it unique.
