The main reason the studio edited publicity shots irked me was because I'd just accidentally ordered a keychain using one of those photos. I had to reorder with the correct photo and it finally arrived. I think it turned out well!

There's no way to know. The thing about the Style Guide photos is that they're altered versions of existing photos so there's something to compare against. Other than a few of the most egregious ones from the style guide, I wouldn't have been able to say for sure that they were altered without doing a close comparison. I don't have any reason to believe any other publicity photo is inauthentic if she looks normal to me.

    I'm on board.

(Thanks for fixing my videos, LazyPooky!)

Speaking of cicley I heard this song on the radio the other day and immediately thought of his ytmnd. I think he was the first to make a blue steph.

Even among S1 eps I like the higher contrast/saturation ones.

I really don't think the original promo photos are edited. "Processed" as in properly setting the white balance, contrast, curves, etc... sure, but I don't think they're airbrushed.

I do prefer the higher saturation though. Never cared for the pale wig, although I don't think it showed up that many times. The Season 2 wig varied over time as I recall both in size and color.

This image from LazyPooky's excellent investigative work in the linked thread is ridiculous. She looks great, why did they feel the need to photoshop S1 Stephanie's face on there? It looks disproportionate. It reminds me of how weird it feels to hear S2 Steph lip syncing to Bing Bang recorded in S1. It's jarring. I always wished they'd re-recorded it for S2.

I just had an image of myself in the future, owning a bar just so I could say "We don't serve their kind here!" when an AI tries to walk in.

I did read that, I just didn't know if those were the photos that "digitally altered by the studio" referred to. They're so garish I thought they were some poorly done fan-edit.

I stand by my original statement. Just because they're official doesn't make them good. They're like a Madame Tussauds wax Stephanie...

Are there supposed to be gifs linked here? I just see a screencap of image info.

But yeah Stephanies Without Borders was a project I initiated when the 2010 Style Guide fell into our hands, which is to say, I nagged BJ, cicley and yhpets to edit out the crap surrounding the images (and some other images) so I could post a series of ready to use images that were clean.

I get the feeling BRBFBI did not read the text on the page.

    Some
of these poses may look familiar to the older "white background" JPG
shots, or resemble each other, but look closely and you will see differences.

For example, some are in higher resolution but show less of Steph. Others appear
to have been digitally altered by the studio.
Compare them to the shots on the
    "Classic Publicity Shots" page.
