What LazyTown content are you listening to right now

This thread is similar to the off-topic discussion 'what are you listening to right now' but now for on-topic LazyTown stuff.

This video becomes 10 years old this year. I remember, it used to be on top of the search results when you searched for Stephanie LazyTown. That's why it has so many views. Or people just liked the video or music. Who knows.

When I made this video I stole the GIF from somewhere 😋

Magnús: - I have fans of all ages and I don't think it's weird when older people like LazyTown. LazyTown appeals to people for many different reasons: dancing, acrobatics, etc.

I booted up a Windows Vienna VM for fun and started listening to Anything Can Happen.

I'm so happy to have an ON TOPIC version of this thread finally. Wow you guys came up with good forum thread ideas when I was sleeping

Of course I did. From the start.

Did you really think I didn't know where that GIF came from?

Knowing where it came from, and giving credit, are two different things.

I'm trying to draw the LazyTown characters.. with PENCIL. Because I wanna get back into hand-drawn comics again.

Why do I do this to myself

There aren't even any official guides on how to draw the characters so I'm using this one from 2013 with no comments

My alltime favorites "Master of Disguise" and "You are a Pirate". Something about singing along to the songs while driving or in general always brings me back to my childhood.

You Are A Pirate was my first LazyTown-song love when I was a child, same with the fascination with Robbie Rotten.
I never understood why the Cooking By The Book song was so popular, or the Mine Song. It has probably to do with the video and/or character.

From the Stephanie songs I like the uptempo songs Galaxy, Twenty Times Time.

The mine song is pretty comedic, but I wouldn't listen to it outside of it's episode. I do like Cooking by the Book, though. I agree that it's partially for the video. Her outfit is really cute and showcases a lot of what makes Stephanie so popular. I also like how her vocal pitch spikes up really high in certain places. Like the lines "It's a peace of cake to bake a pretty cake" the "a" spikes up really high, and at "Never use a messy recipe" the second syllable of "messy" spikes. There's probably a vocal term to describe it that I don't know.

It also fits into a pretty common trope of young girls cooking, especially in Japan, but who knows how related that is to it's popularity.

Anyway, only Cooking by the Book and You are a Pirate went viral outside the community, so when I watched the show for the first time I was surprised to find that there are so many great songs.

Those are two of my favorites as songs. I like Galaxy more counting the video, but if I'm just listening on CD Twenty Times Time is the best. I just downloaded The New Album from GetLazyMedia and I've been loving the fantastic fidelity and audio mixing. It's almost like listening to the songs again for the first time. It's pointless to list my favorites because there are so many good ones, but as far as non-stephanie songs I like The Greatest Genie, and pretty much all of Robbie's songs are good. From S2 I really like New Games Everyday.

Cooking by the Book has some very interesting musical qualities (and great singing by Julianna). The brief high note is similar to the "grace notes" you hear in Irish fiddling.

                      See 1:33 and 1:41.

I actually always picture Season 2 Stephanie dancing to this (Siamsa) music with her long fairy tale episode skirt, like the dance Igraine does in Excalibur, when the men are pounding the table in time and she is holding up the skirt with her hands as she twirls. Isn't there a screencap somewhere of Stephanie holding up the right and left sides of the skirt that way? She certainly twirls like that in the circus episode.

                      Starting around 0:50

Also when she sings the word "recipe" she does quite an impressive vibrato on the "e" at the end.

And parts of the song, like when she sings the word "crazy", veer into a minor key, giving the word a particularly eerie sound.

That's cool and all but No Ones Lazy in LazyTown (Get up and Go Remix) will always be the best LazyTown song. Nostalgia factors as well as the fact it absolutely slaps.

There is only this brief and tightly framed shot. Maybe BoredJedi can do something with it.

Interesting about the "grace notes." I can hear it! I like the song.

I'd never heard that! Thanks for turning me onto it. Ironic that it was excluded from the Australian version of The New Album.

Yes! That's the screencap I was thinking of. Thanks.

Speaking of skirt holding, well it isn't LT related so I'll post it in the regular What Are You Listening To thread.

I assume it was UK-exclusive as it was only on the 'Greatest Hits' and New Album CDs (2010, 2007 UK) and never seen other then from that.
