I was watching "Pixel TV" on tv today and stumbled over the curiosity that the tv camera was obviously screwed (broken lens)

This camera has three independant lens in total. So they could just rotate the base an use another glass.

Oh come on, there is obviously no "broken one" at all. This is cinematic convention (I don't know how to call it properly in English).
It's like in the movies, where guns never run out of ammo, and all cars explode like nuklear bombs.
