    Iceland’s LazyTown nominated for Emmy

Icelandic educational children’s programme LazyTown has been nominated for an International Emmy Award in the ‘Kids: Preschool’ category.

Created by Icelander Magnús Scheving, the educational musical programme – known as ‘Latibær’ is Icelandic – is up against competition from other series from Brasil, Japan and the United Kingdom.

The award ceremony will take place on 5 April 2016.

LazyTown has gained tremendous popularity throughout the world and has been shown in over 170 countries in some thirty languages.

I hope they win. They deserve it.
Magnús: - I have fans of all ages and I don't think it's weird when older people like LazyTown. LazyTown appeals to people for many different reasons: dancing, acrobatics, etc.

They totally do. Their show has been made using the same techniques as any Hollywood movie. Using only 1 camera, having a huge production team, hiring 6 professional puppeteers, and even having 3 insanely talented singers/actors.
The only difference in Hollywood films and the LazyTown series, is that while an average movie runs at 120 minutes, LazyTown has clocked in at a total of 2500 hours between all the different series.
I'm as sneaky as can be. None's sneakier than me.

I saw this but am a little confused. As far as I know, these aren't being held until later today.
