Re: LazyTown in the US gone for good?
I read the news again and yes, Turner owns LazyTown now, but he is still CEO and manage the production, etc.
So, why they told me about most of Shares Magnús has? Interesting... Or maybe if he has the Shares, that's the reason why he is still CEO and his Team manage it.
It's a pity anyways... And I still think since Ragnheidur decided not work more on LT Ent., everything went worse.- Translate

Re: LazyTown in the US gone for good?
According to Elín, Mágnus said that they haven't gotten as far as knowing which actors will be playing in the next season. Magnús does say that he and Stefán Karl keep contact and that he wishes he'd play Robbie again, he says it would be fun for them to finish it together. I would say it's unlikely because he already signed up for doing The Grinch again, like GG said, but maybe a miracle happens.Originally posted by whateverAnd Magnus interviewed http://www.mbl.is/frettir/sjonvarp/62276/?cat=innlentOriginally posted by IlovestephshoesFound The Video Making It Offical With Maggi Signing The Contract

I wonder what he's saying, Isn't he talkinbg about Stefan Karl?
I really hope they don't ask Julianna for the part of Stephanie, she already did the 2nd and LT extra season with a grumpy head and insulting the older fans didn't do her good. She better stay away.- Translate

Re: LazyTown in the US gone for good?
Yeah no reason to ask I was just curious. Thinking back I remember the incident from 2009 when the "bond" holders were calling in their loans because they were hurting from the crash of 2008.Originally posted by beticaforeverI don't want ask again for a while, and because for me, it is a topic a bit... delicate...
KIDS' favourite LazyTown is facing financial meltdown — with its Icelandic bosses owing £15MILLION.
Bondholders are taking legal action to retrieve the vast sum, which may lead to the bankruptcy of LazyTown Entertainment.
Mr Scheving, 45, insisted most bondholders had agreed to loans being repaid in "the next few years".
And now this new deal 2 years later.
Pretty much the same amount needed to pay off those pesky bondholders. Magnus must also think about the future of his Lazytown franchise. He's getting older he'll be hitting the big 50 in just two years and I'm sure he's thinking about when it's time for him to retire and in who's capable hands to leave the franchise.LazyTown firm bought by Turner Broadcasting
Children's television show created by Magnus Scheving sold in a deal valued at more than £15m
Originally posted by beticaforeverAnd, guys, think something, Magnús loves his Company and his Creations, I don't think he wanted to sign a deal for lose his company completely, because if he only thought about money, then, why not "sold" (I added commas because it is not a sold actually) the company before, huh?
That's also his weakness. No matter how much anyone tries to deny it, without the money you are pretty much dead in the water. The ideal is to be financially independent so you don't have to go around crawling and selling your soul off to any devil that does have the cash. To be frank, LTEs marketing sucks and that's why they ran into trouble. Don't get me wrong one can love everything about one's creation but you must also be smart and practical business wise. More than likely, Magnus wanted to do more episodes but didn't have the funds to do it. He couldn't get more from the bondholders so he had to turn elsewhere and TBS took the deal.
TBS will show him how marketing is done. :)- Translate

Re: LazyTown in the US gone for good?
It has Shares, and most of the Shares are for Magnús and his Team, so he is still the CEO and his Team manage it.
When you buy a company, you buy all the Shares (well, if it is a Ltd. Company the word "Shares" they don't say it cause you can't buy Shares on Ltd., you buy the money the company wants to sell, but not Shares exactly, of course when you have more money than others, you have a bigger percent of Shares, but not the same word), and then if the company who bought the old company is interested about old company still there, then they do a deal. But this is not the case for LazyTown Entertainment, I understood it at least.
When I studied about two companies, there was three cases, this is one of them, and if I remember well, it is about:
Company A and Company B.
B buys Shares from A, but if A has 51% of the Shares, A is still in charge. But it is a bad thing, because if B (specially when it has a lot of Shares there) is interested for buy more Shares, if B has 51% then A not in charge and now B is in charge. So, very careful for Magnús and his Team. Anyways, if Turner is the main Shareholder, then they will have an important part in decisions.
So, it looks like a Partnership at the moment, but we don't know what will happen later...
Anyways, if someone can ask... I don't want ask again for a while, and because for me, it is a topic a bit... delicate...

Re: LazyTown in the US gone for good?
Also I'm confused about this TBS deal. Can't really make heads or tails out of from the numerous news outlets vomiting out the same press release. Is this a complete ownership by TBS or is it more a partnership. When reading the various statements from Magnus and the TBS crew by the way the news outlets wrote them I'm getting rather conflicting ideas. A one point it sounds like TBS owns them lock, stock and barrel and at other times it sounds more like a partnership.
Overall though it's going to be sad seeing our Stephanie being replaced by the new Stephanie in the posters, ads and style guides.- Translate

Perhaps Wiki was wrong about it being 1080i.
What a shame... it looks like once again, LazyTown, a show filmed natively in high definition, is going to be relegated to standard definition releases only. LazyTown truly shines in HD.
It is hard to watch SD these days. This will certainly detract from my enjoyment of the new season.- Translate

Re: LazyTown in the US gone for good?
I think it's probably a no on both parts. Isn't Stefán in the Grinch again this year? plus he bid Robbie a fond farewell on facebook. As for JR, she said herself she was growing less willing to play the part, no one likes a disgruntled Gemini.Originally posted by beticaforeverthey are trying Stefán comes back. The question is... what about Julianna? :?- Translate
