Re: Lazytown Extra 2008 (26 new mini-episodes)
Hey Big Update
I've just learned, from the inner depths of the BBC webpages, that LTextra is to start on the UK CBeebies channel on Monday 15th September at 4.00pm.
As you all probably know, they will be completely different from the "normal " lazytown episodes.
Mostly written by Mani Svavarsson and Mark Valenti, with a huge input from Maggi, they consist of seperated sketches which last from 1-2 minutes, which means no real continuing story line, but they will portray the characters in a more comical way, and should be looked at as an addition to the LazyTown “family”, and not compared too much with the regular episodes.
Apart from the theme, there are no new songs I’m afraid, but I’ve been informed the new theme song has more "rock" and guitars in it than the typical lazyTown song – but very powerful and catchy with Magni´s wonderful voice.
The full BBC “blurb” is as follows…..
Monday 15 to Thursday 18 September 2008
4.00-4.15pm CBEEBIES (Schedule addition 29 August)
Ziggy, the ever-popular candy-loving character from LazyTown, is set to travel around the UK to discover children's favourite fun activities, in LazyTown Extra, a new series co-produced by BBC Children's in Scotland exclusively for CBeebies.
The series is an action-packed magazine-style show for three-to-six-year-olds with each themed episode featuring all the LazyTown favourites.
Each programme features children from across the UK showing adventure-loving Ziggy all about their favourite activities, such as playing basketball, visiting the zoo, growing vegetables or splashing about in the swimming pool.
Each show also features Sportacus, introducing the CBeebies audience to an exercise of the day; Trixie and Stephanie, who are in the kitchen making fun SportsCandy recipes; and Robbie Rotten, who creates his usual mayhem.
In the first episode, Ziggy learns all about playing football
