iTunes HD episodes Season 1
Yar.........
..Thanks for the translation BJ.
Haha. Try playing those .mkv files in QuickTime.
What Xizer means by proper I don't know. Perhaps products for the masses? Playback is one thing and editing is another. As far as I'm aware, from no to very little support for MKV exists in profession products.
From Avid media composer (used by Lazytown studios and the most widely used NLE for professional film and video editing) to Final Cut pro. MKV needs to be either remuxed (as Xizer rightly pointed out is the best way to go) or converted. Most professional software is going to focus on one thing and that is what the camera makers put in their products. Again, as far as I'm aware, no commercial camera (pro or for the masses) uses an MKV container. On a side note, Avid did come out with some sort of video editing product for the masses called Avid Studio ($99) and from what I understand, it had/has MKV support but on the downside it's a horrible piece of software always crashing. On a side note, the professional software also has preferences to what the video inside these containers are encoded (codecs). AVID recommends DNxHD for editing along with XDCAM but their first choice is DNxHD. And that brings me back to a point earlier about commercial cameras using the mkv container. Once that happens if it ever does, MKV will pick up support for professional software.Comment

......QuickTime? QUICKTIME?! Bahahahaha.
People actually USE QuickTime? That's the first time I've ever heard of people actually using that piece of shit.
Here's an idea: try using a real video player instead of one of Apple's toys.
Why don't I try playing those .mkv files in a Video-CD player next? Because those have just about as much relevance as QuickTime. Using QuickTime to play video files in this day and age is like still using Netscape as your browser...Comment

Ya know, I rarely use Quicktime but after reading this I felt compelled to upgrade the software. True Apple tends to be more about style than substance, but they have had their successes. Today they are a very popular choice for mobile computing options, even while competitors offer more powerful products. It seems to me that the quality of finesse present in Apple's "toys" lends itself well to the modern era of computing. I understand the appeal of using the best of the best in terms of pure performance and that is why I have always stood up for the PC. But I do not ignore the fact that proprietary software w/ user-friendly interface has resonated well with the masses. And I am referring to what is occurring in this day and age. I happened to be in an Apple store the other day and was surprised by the assemblage of all different kinds of people generally engaged in Apple's, seemingly modest, products. I also noticed how technologically spell-bound families would often let their offspring meander off while the parents blew their paycheck on Apple's latest over-priced gadget. Surely it doesn't take one of the store's "geniuses" to figure out the place is perfectly ripe for a nice child abduction. Alas, my mind has strayed from whatever irreverent insight I was trying to make. If you need me I'll be at the kids table.Everybody needs a little time to play around.
