I realize JRM's voice talent is debatable? But the way she sings in this song just
really moves me for some reason. Maybe it's the words, or that it has a hint of the 80s
in the music, or maybe it sort of sounds like she is really singing to someone.
Does anyone else like this song???

I like that song, it's very tender-hearted. I feel that her performance is very genuine and sincere. I do agree that it consistently seems like she is really singing to someone. I think that brings a sense of comfort to the viewer because it seems like she is singing right to you. I think the director's choice to add face close-ups often helps communicate this even more effectively.
Eh. Not one of my personal favorites. I prefer the faster upbeat stuff much much more. But it's still higher up on the list than "The Greatest Genie" ;) Amirite folks?
I'm not quite sure if I get the whole "she's singing to you" thing though. Could just be because I am always singing or atleast mouthing along.....or occasionally dancing.

I love it. it's very heartfelt and sentimental.....definitely one of my favorites, though I prefer the original version from the show itself... the addtional chorus near the end kinda makes the song sound more uplifting imo.

Well, "The Greatest Geanie" is a happy, funny, upbeat song...this one is a sad, hoppeful ballad, you can't realy compare them.

There probably is. I go on one principle: if it's out in the UK, it's probably been released in Iceland.
