I remember the hype this album got back in '24 upon release, but never got around to listening to it. Listening to the whole album recently made me realise just what I was missing out on. The whole album front to back is amazing and some of the best death metal I've ever heard.
I think it's also valueble in showing people that death metal isn't just growls and downtunes, but has the potential to be really wild and experimental. It's great for combating the stagnancy the genre suffers.
The only negative critisisms I've seen for this album is that it's "not death metal enough", a ridiculous argument that shows a real stubborness to widen musical taste and a testiment to the stagnancy I mentioned. Alot of death metal fans are strangely inflexible about the genre: "if it's not Cannibal Corpse or Death, it's not death metal", essentially speaking. Although that's not a topic I have the will to discuss.
Also, I really didn't mean for this to be a review of sorts. Excuse my ramblings please, I'm just excited about this
Anywho, here's the best track imo: Stargate Tablet I. I recommend playing the whole album of coarse ;)
