Well, that’s over. But, welcome to exams and assessments, staying outside when it’s wet (no indoor recess anymore) and more, for the next 6 years

Maybe school camp if your HS does it too

Btw most HS now do class work online now. No more paper books except maybe science and math

I still find it crazy that, the first Scooby doo movie (2002) was filmed in Australia. So, ig that’s a fun fact

Talking about learning something new about movies. The primary school learning environment in my time during summer 😅

I remember when I was in grades 3-4, the classrooms had no aircon except fans and windows to cool down during summer (didn’t help btw). The older carpet, with yellow painted walls ripping/shedding off, sometimes paper would fall through the vent like windows thingys to outside, very old projector screen, make shift curtains and a computer room with windows 7 or whatever version. Yeah, I’m that old, not too old but old

Too bad the year & 2 after me had the building fixed up with aircon and a newer design. Over my grade 5 summer holidays and had laptops put in (the computer lab was still being used at the time but updated the system. The school didn’t have enough laptops until I graduated where they went full digital with iPads and stuff. Tho not sure if the computer lab is still around). I was the last grade to have no digital stuff except break times and technology class at the library or the labs (Literally the first to play Minecraft education)

Too many mice, rabbits, kangaroos, etc. Whining about animals spreading across the land is typical farmer behavior.

Complaining about animals isn't unique to Australia, because in my own small country, they've been talking for months about the return of the wolf, and they reproduce already in large numbers. Which is wonderful. The more animals, the better. In Australia, it involves prey animals, meaning the predators have enough food to expand the population as well. Let's just hope they don't start using poison...

Was he talking about animal mascots? More animals the better is not always the case. When I lived in Connecticut we had an overabundance of black bears. The politicians made laws restricting a homeowner’s ability to shoot bears on their own property, and so the bears were just everywhere looking around for food and endangering young lives.

That is what happens when people start living in and occupying nature, as it were. Then you have to deal with the wild animals that live there. It is not the other way around. If the situation becomes threatening, nature must take precedence, and people must leave or learn to live with it, with all the consequences that comes with it.

If you give space to nature, everything will be fine. People realize that now more and more.

Personally, I'm more worried about the impact of invasive species on our native wildlife. Cane toads, feral cats/dogs, red foxes, rabbits, among many others. Cats alone have directly caused the extinction of over 20 native species, Foxes and cats together caused over 40 extinctions. Many more driven close to extinction

I do understand why farmers complain, it IS their livelihoods after all. But like you mention, they also complain about native species "damaging stock" and use it as an excuse to trap, bait and kill our wildlife (just look at the "dingo fence"). Not to mention our politicians, who seem to only care about the farmers
