Are Stephanie's Legs Naturally Colored Pink?

This is just a thought I had and it's something I noticed when I watched the show when it was new.

Are Stephanie's legs supposed to be naturally colored pink? Of course I know that it's pink tights, but she's always wearing them with her regular outfit, with her pajamas, her soccer uniform and probably with her exercise clothing.


Is it just thought of as part of the costume or is it intentional that her legs are supposed to be pink all the time?

Not trying to sound creepy, just a curious thought I had. It seems weird is all.

I was talking about in show. Every outfit she had included pink tights. Everything from her regular outfit to her pirate costume and even to her soccer uniform. I just find it kind of baffling.

1. They don't want a kid to appear too bare on tv.
2. Maybe if she has pink legs then she isn't black or white, she's pink.

Showing too much skin. As we can all see, the Stephanie pink dress isn't ankle length.
The same reason why in Dancing Duel she has sort of sleeves, and in the S2 episodes with the tracksuit, she's wearing a pink top underneath even though the jacket is always zipped. Well, it might be a pull on thing, but you get what I mean.

Oh and continuity must play a part too, if you've returned from a holiday tanned and in the last scene you shot you were pale, clothes can cover up the tan just leaving your face which can be easily (I presume) fixed with make up.

Not gonna lie, that top right picture of Stephanie is a bit smexier that what I would like to admit..
For once I'm actually glad that they went for a more conservative look for her. Imagine the swarm of 4chan neckbeards that would approach, had she actually worn a costume like this. Geesh.

Tights are also really easy to move around in, too. I mean, Stephanie is supposed to be the most active character in the show aside from Sportacus, and tights are great to exercise in because the fabric is relatively thin.

Stephanie could also wear shorts, but but the dress/leggings combo is probably a better gender marker than soccer shorts.

The little pink princess Stephanie is a very "girly-girl", as you correctly point out, so I don't think a pair of shorts would ever really work out.
The only other option I can think of, would be no leggins at all, which we saw in the stage play.
It worked there (just barely though) but only because it was worn by a 20-some year old, and not an actual minor, as in the TV show.
Ultimately I think it was a mutual decision made by LTE and Nickelodeon, in order to appeal to the right audience.

If only other tv-shows would have turned down the sexappeal from their lead characters as well, I probably wouldn't have spent my childhood madly in love with Totally Spies, Kim Possible, Braceface etc. etc.

Knee pads can certainly bring any outfit together.

An aspiring dancer would be right at home in tights, because this is the tradition for ballet and the attire at dance schools. They also keep her legs warm on set and reduce any economy of movement caused by inhibition. I did notice that in the pilot episode drawings Steph was not wearing tights.
