I'm kind of curious when the last time everybody watched an episode was (no judgement, pure curiosity). Especially you old timers. I saw my first episode less than three years ago, and at this point I probably watch one or two episodes a week, almost always from the first season. Often I'll prop my laptop on the windowsill and watch an episode while I'm doing the dishes, as was the case today.
I watched Miss Roberta. (S1E25; Directors: Raymond P. Le Gue, Jonathon Judge; Stephanie Cuteness Rank: A++)
For some reason I'm a sucker for crossdressing comedy. It just asks for such suspension of disbelief from the audience. It's ridiculous and over the top - a perfect match for Robbie. I love it. This episode also features one of my favorite little running jokes, which is Robbie's obsession with the absoluteness of "forever." Someone will respond with "for how long did you say?" at which he loses composure, shouting "FOREVER!" In this episode he has to catch himself so as not to give away his disguise.
There's tons of Stephanie, including the source of this gif, which caused me to pause the episode and give it a watch. It's one of no fewer than three episodes, along with Sports Candy Festival and Lazytown's New Superhero, where the plot of the episode is that she wants to do something nice for Sportacus. That always stood out to me. There are other episodes with parties (like Ziggy's BD party) but there isn't, for example, an episode where she's determined to do something nice for her uncle. She also wants the streamers to be pink and blue. Cute.
Finally, it's a great Milford episode. He's one of my favorite characters; so earnest and kind, a little bit dopey. Me in a different life. He's in a desperate struggle with his intrusive thoughts about spoiling the surprise party, which is genuinely hilarious. As soon as Sportacus walks out of frame he explodes with "SURPRISE PARTY" just to get it out of his system.
Great episode, I laughed throughout. BTW Stephanie is an absolute psychopath writing "carry around dangerously heavy piles of wood" on Milford's to do list in order to distract Sportacus.
