I kinda like Mayor Meanswell's old look, but...no. Just no. I can't believe they even considered replacing Magnus and Stefan with puppets. They're too awesome not to act out the scenes themselves!

Not to mention the weird hair, rough faces, and Solla wearing a purple shirt under that pink dress? Huh? I do rather like that bird character though. Shame he wasn't in the show.

Especially the drunk muppetesque guy at the end.

From what I can tell, the bird acted as a narrator for the stage show, setting up the coming scenes.
There's really not much use for that in a 30 minute television show.
They could've given him a different role, though.

And I don't think it would have been very good with Stephanie, Sportacus and Robbie as puppets. Out of some sort of absolute necessity they could have done Robbie and Stephanie as puppets, but Sportacus, never.
