I've read it 2 dozen times just to make sure, but unless someone has hacked into his curriculum vitæ (résumé) and added this stuff, Lazytown director of photography, Tómas örn Tómasson is to begin TOMMORROW filming 26 new Lazytown episodes for tv.
I read an entry in his blog ......... http://tomastomasson.blog.is/blog/tomastomasson/
.... over a week ago mentioning "Lazytown Extra", but as it was in icelandic, so I was none the wiser, and was thinking of asking a certain someone on this board who is Icelandic to translate, but didn't get round to it. This news seems to confirm what he was on about.
I am in a state of (pleasant) shock, but maybe someone can find more corroborating news before I get too over exicted and do something silly.

Lazytown is back!
Well then it's time, Latibær to start again. These will actually be "mini" episodes, i.e. we would only approx. 6 minutes per episode. The plan is to make 26 such episodes, which will go by the name "Lazytown Extra". The shooting will start on March 3rd and will last until April 18th, so this is comfortably short. We are going to shoot on 3 Thomson Viper cameras and I will add 3 lenses to the lens collection that Latibær has. This means I will have all DigiZeiss lens types available except the 3.9mm. The point is that the shooting style and lens usage changes considerably by doing this on 3 machines; one is forced to rely more on narrow lenses. Sigvaldi Kárason will direct these episodes and Lísa Kristjánsdóttir will be the 1st assistant director. Her right hand will then be Davíð Óskar Ólafsson. Otherwise, it will be more or less continued by the same people.
