    90s-00s Nickelodeon Thread

WELCOME TO THE 90S NICKELODEON THREAD

I certainly wasn't around when 90s Nickelodeon was on TV, but now I am because Teenick still runs in Australia. Crazy, right? It's dead in the US and everywhere else and I still have it.

Anyways, talk about 'Kenan & Kel', 'All That', 'Amanda Show', 'Drake & Josh' here. Anything as long as it's related to
    • the shows of 90s-00s Nickelodeon
    • the movies of 90s-00s Nickelodeon
    • the actors of 90s-00s Nickelodeon
    • the logos of 90s-00s Nickelodeon
    • the music of 90s-00s Nickelodeon

and if you please, talk about 90s-00s Nick Jr.

No LazyTown talk though. This forum has too much LazyTown related-talk

    1. This is Dan Schneider's call to fame.
    2. TLC composed the main theme.
    3. Josh Server was in every episode of the first six seasons.
    4. Coach Kreeton was Kel Mitchell's favourite character to play.
    5. Miss Pidlin was Kenan Thompson's favourite character to play.
    6. Ms. Hushbaum (Loud Librarian) was Lori Beth Denberg's favourite character to play.
    7. Seasons 3 and 9 had more female cast members then male.
    8. Emma Stone auditioned for All That.
    9. Coach Kreeton was based off Kel Mitchell's PE coach
    10. Since All That was filmed at the Nick Studios in Florida, Kel rode the rides at lunch.
    11. Katrina Johnson auditioned for All That five times.
    12. Coolio was a fan of Nickelodeon. He was in a season 2 episode.
    13. All That spawned numerous Nick projects:
    14. 'Kenan & Kel', 'The Amanda Show', 'Action League Now', 'KaBlam', 'Nick Cannon Show', 'Zoey 101', 'Just Jordan', 'Good Burger' which spawned 'Good Burger 2', 'Drake and Josh' which spawned 'iCarly', which spawned 'Victorious', which spawned 'Sam & Cat'.
    15. All That's rerun history is a lot to unpack:
The last time a Season 1 episode was aired was episode 2 in 2005, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the show.
Season 2 has been re-run frequently by the 90s are All That block since 2011.
Seasons 2-8 were re-run by The N in 2008. Since then, rarely on TV.
Season 9 and 10 have not aired since 2005-2006.

Yesterday I saw 2 episodes of "Kenan & Kel" on TV: Freezer Burned & The Limo.

I never got around watching these classics when I was younger, probably because they never ran when I watched them. I do distinctly remember catching glimpses of "My life as a teenage robot", "Mr. Meaty", "Jimmy Neutron", "Danny Phantom", "ICarly" and "Batman" with Adam West though. Its a damn shame these classics are nowhere to be found on modern broadcasts, leaving it for me to add them to my collection. The young generation really has my deepest condolences with what they are fed nowadays.

You don't say, of course they are on DVD or something like that. And yes, I am aware some are far younger here, but that still applies pretty much. The Quality was far better back then.

Clarissa Explains It All and Sabrina the Teenage Witch were one of my favorites. It aired here on a commercial channel, like 20 years ago, with all the other children's sitcoms from the 90's. I watched it almost every day for few years, continuous replays. That was probably the last time it aired and I'm glad I grew up with that.

They had other shows or series too. Like Wicked Science. Wasn't that Australian?
Magnús: - I have fans of all ages and I don't think it's weird when older people like LazyTown. LazyTown appeals to people for many different reasons: dancing, acrobatics, etc.

It was Australian but not a Nickelodeon production.. INFACT it was a.. blegh.. DISNEY CHANNEL production
Over the last 3 days, I've seen 5 Kenan & Kel episodes:

Click image for larger version Name:	1200?cb=20210502154532.png Views:	0 Size:	1,24 MB ID:	204222
THE LIMO: In order to impress a rich girl, Kenan pretends to be rich as well and hires a limo to take her on a date, only for Kel to knock out the driver and left with no option but to take his place.

Well.. that was chaotic. BUT it was funny, I laughed a lot at it.

FREEZER BURNED: After Kel accidentally switches a restroom sign at a restaurant, everyone gets trapped inside the freezer and becomes increasingly angry at Kel when he keeps making the situation worse.

I laughed at this a million times, probably the funniest Kenan & Kel episode.

CHICAGO WITCH TRIALS: So this one was absolute cinema. Why do i say that? Well.. it's funny. Plus lots of coincidences and insults thrown back at each other from Kenan and Charla.

This is my favourite K&K episode for sure! Yesterday only one K&K episode aired, but this is enough Kenan and Kel comedy for me.

I watched this with my siblings and mother.

"SURPRISE, SURPRISE". So my mom barely got through this one because they almost took down the whole damn kitchen, and Kenan & Kel were being 'naughty' by her definiton..

This one was hilarious (the women who sat on the-- no, spoilers are dumb), especially the ending.

                    Nick Show of the Week:

                    Spongebob Squarepants
                    (1997- )

I'm assuming Nickelodeon's money and viewership comes from this show and it's movies alone. You probably know Spongebob, Squidward, Patrick, Mr. Krabs.. the show is an icon of today's pop culture and has been since the 2000s. Also I have the second season on DVD. It's fun. But I hear the show goes downhill from that point. Anyways:
                    FUN FACTS
                    1. Spongebob was originally called Spongeboy
                    2. 25% Spongebob watchers are adults with no children
                    3. The show was supposed to end after the 2004 movie
                    4. Spongebob Squarepants along with Henry Danger (2014-2020, not relevant to this topic) is one of the longest running Nick shows ever

NICK SHOW of the WEEK: Doug

I was just watching this on Toonami Aftermath - Doug is a coming-of-age comedy series by Nickelodeon focusing on the adventures of sixth grader Doug, his dog Porkchop, his family and friends, documented in his journal. It was wholesome, funny, and got bought by Disney after season 4. It also got a movie! Doug is one of the most wholesome shows I've watched, and it's funny. But, my opinion doesn't matter since I've only seen two episodes of the Nick version.

Stepher Hillenburg, the creator, left after season three, along with a lot of the original writers. It devolved into exaggerated screaming characters and toilet humor. The first three seasons are great, though.

That's ridiculous! The second movie was great though. I watched a bit of season 11, 12, I think? Too much to keep count of, anyways, I watched a bit of the newer episodes and didn't like them that much. Maybe it's why I had such a negative connection with Spongebob up until last year

While sitting in a county health department waiting room years ago to get some vaccines for school, I was surrounded by parents with small children and Spongebob on the too-loud TV they had put there to distract the kids, I'm not sure what was worse, the noise from the TV or the screaming of the kids.
