Disney buys Marvel $4 billion

There is one story today, and only one story: Disney is buying Marvel for $4 billion. While the two companies were suing each other as recently as 5 years ago, the biggest publisher in comics is becoming a part of the entertainment giant, and everyone is freaking out.

I was originally reading this with my jaw open but then I realized that Stan Lee is old. He probably wanted to dump all his stuff someplace that would give him tons of money before he died. I honestly can't see much changing. Spiderman 3 was bad, Hulk was bad, Iron Man was bad, Iron Man 2 looks bad. Wolverine was alright. It's not like many of these titles were any good to begin with so maybe (as in doubtfully) Disney will make them better. What I see happening is people buying out specific titles. Spiderman will belong one place, Xmen to another, etc etc. It could turn out to be an improvement. We shall see.

Disney is a massive media empire. Nothing will change with your beloved Marvel comics, but you might get a few bonus comic books released featuring Disney characters.
