My friend and I have been searching for a long long time for any albums of "Tik Tak" the finnish band. We can't find a place to buy all their albums or even downloads online. If anyone can help that would be great! ^_^

Re: Tik Tak
Is this Tik Tak?:

If so, Main site?: http://www.tiktak.fi/
Fan club?: http://gruphepsifansokagi.forumzen.com/
Lyrics?: http://www.lyricsondemand.com/t/tiktaklyrics/
This is just the start though, I haven't really looked yet.*Thanks to Ultra Magnus for Nindanjoe.sigpic -

Re: Tik Tak
lol, sorry for not explaining. I know that you were looking for downloads, everything in that post was for verification purposes. The lyrics are absolutely important because if that's their songs, then I will have a much better chance at finding downloads. Also, the video and main site help when identifying them. For example, if there's a forum on them with downloads and they have pictures of them, then I'll be know for sure that's the group you're looking for. Here's some of my process when searching:
1) Identify and learn who and what I'm looking for
2) Initial search to ascertain difficulty in finding what I'm searching for
3) If I find there's some difficulty, I have to find out what exactly I'm looking for. Either ask the person looking for it (easy) or I have to learn everything about what I'm looking for, even if it leads me in the wrong direction (takes a long time).
4) If it's easy, post links, post source.
In this case, if I want to find Tik Tak, I essentially have to learn everything like a fan would just so I can determine if it's actually Tik Tak or something else completely. I do thank for the main site and video confirmation. The lyrics would help, but hopefully the main site will negate. However, I have run into a situation where a music group changes companies and their old singles/albums are not on the new site. If the lyrics are indeed verified, then I have a backup solution for searching.*Thanks to Ultra Magnus for Nindanjoe.sigpicComment

Re: Tik Tak
here is some info to help the search.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiktak
the wikipedia article lists the albums, I'm mostly looking for the last 3 albums that were released. Newer stuff I'd definetly except though too if found.
some of their music vids/on stage
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=003DvmGI0Us
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaQG5yv8paA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezkx5caBLt8
That one above I realize now is a song by the band "Hepsi" called "TikTak" simple mistake so don't worry about that Nindanjoe. lol.
Good Luck.Comment

Re: Tik Tak
Ok, this is quite difficult. At first I was attempting to steal music from last.fm, but then yesterday I ran into a site with higher quality WMAs; 128kb/s for last.fm and 192kb/s for the latter. Oh, this is for the album Ympyrää (10.11.2003). I can upload that one if you're interested. I did find a bunch of ed2k links, if you and your friend are interested in giving those a try, but there's no guarantee in getting the files plus it'll be incredibly slow. There's also Limewire and WinMX to try out too. Napster seems to have 1 album, but I don't know their quality and I don't know if catching their streams is easy or not. They do have a 7-day trial going on.
Well, I am quitting the search for this, not completely, I just won't attack it like a bull stampede. Every now and again I'll give it a look. Hopefully I gave you enough information for you and your friend to continue the search.
Oh yeah, I also capture some streams from finetune.com for Hei me soitetaan...oikeesti! (mini-lp) (3.11.2004), but it's 64 kb/s, 22kHz MP3s. Coincidently, I found ed2k links for the DVD of that. :)
EDIT: Interesting development. I got 4 albums from eMule, and I was just doing it for fun. Overnight, no less. Usually things take forever and a day on eMule. By the by, those were the only 4 available on the ED2K network. I have found some finnish stores that have the albums, the problem is I don't know if they ship internationally. I do have links to a few stores, I'll just post them and let you and your friend sort it all out. That'll be the next post.*Thanks to Ultra Magnus for Nindanjoe.sigpicComment

Re: Tik Tak
By definition, everything is transcoded. All the encodes of episodes, transcoded. Every single audio file, no matter where you get it from (e.g. CD, DVD, Ogg, FLAC), is transcoded.
Speaking of that, here are some albums:

Re: Tik Tak
No.
If you get an audio file from vinyl, for example, that is not transcoding.
I don't think you know what transcoding is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcode
Transcoding is a term only used for lossy-to-lossy conversions.
Converting from FLAC to MP3 for example is only called converting.Comment

In terms of verbs, the prefix trans- means to go from one thing to another.
i.e. - trans-port, trans-form, trans-[s]cribe etc.
Trans-code just means to transfer information from one code (digital format) to another.
Anything converted from a digital format to another is transcoded.
FLAC is a digital format.Originally posted by Julianna Rose OfficialGetLazy is our next target it will be closed very shortly.Comment

Transcoding is the direct digital-to-digital conversion from one (usually lossy) codec to another.
