Zelda series.
Metroid Prime 1&2
Resident Evil 4

If its free Id play it.

The GameCube has about fifty games that are pretty good. It also has the most comfortable controller design of the last generation.

There's also the Game Boy Player attachment, which lets you play all Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games on your TV. It's got a charming design, and even the noise it makes from its fans whirring and reading discs is kind of adorable. The handle is also very useful for lugging it around. Call it a lunch box all you want, but I see no reason to criticize a feature which makes it easier to haul the system around.

You can easily find one for around $30 these days.

It's a steal.

BTW, they can take a pretty good ass-kickin'. Nintendo products are known for lasting forever.

I dropped mine onto concrete, from about 6 feet high, a fair number of times and it still works ;)

this is true but the N64 controller's analog stick was an anomaly with this. I never saw any of them stand the test of time.

Oh yeah... the darn analog stick would lose it's stiffy :(

You could get a Wii instead, it plays gamecube games as well.

i just got a gamecube off ebay ...it comes with three controllers and 5 games. it was roughly $60.

Not really, considering the GameCube version is the worst.

The PS2 version has more content, the PC version has better graphics as well as that content, and the Wii version kicks both their asses with all of the PS2's extra content, updated graphics, and motion controls.

I have the Wii version, yes it is awesome, but if LT only has a gc, it's still worth it for a great game.

Well, I wouldn't say it's the worst -- It definately has the least amount of content though -- But that's a given, since it IS the original version of RE4. THe PC version of Re4 is just a port of the Ps2 version (and yes, the gfx in the Ps2 version were definately toned down from the GC version by a long shot).

But yes, get RE4 for the GC, it's just great fun Oh -- And I also really really enjoyed the first RE (remake) for the GC.

I'm thinking of trying to pick up a GameCube on the cheap just for the GC Zelda games. I might pick up the Metroid Prime and Rogue Squadron games, but really, it's all about the Zelda.

Not really, considering the GameCube version is the worst.

Anyone whose played both the ps2 version and gamecube version knows the gamecube version has superior graphics, controls and basic gameplay. Not only did the game come out on gamecube first, it was designed to be a console exclusive and never appear on any other platform. It only got ported after 6 months of sony fanboys whining about it. I'm sure that those which did buy a gamecube were won forever. No amount of additional features makes up for the crappy ps2 port.

And LTgirl, these are soem games i highly recommend for gamecube:
eternal darkness
skies of arcadia
tales of symphonia

I like these 3 cause they all have great stories.
