    Dual Screen

So I've got a hold of a new computer...ish . And it's capable of doing two monitors at once. So I'm gonna hook it up in a few days...hooking it up is not the problem, setting it up seems like it. Can anyone provide any tips etc on just general dual screen shtuff???

    TYTY!

    Re: Dual Screen

LOL, thanks. But I've heard there are certain "desktop managers" for dual screen setups. I think my video card's settings has a special mode...but we will see when I set it up.

      Re: Dual Screen

You need 2 outputs, which means you need a video card.
      Its all very simple though.

Right click/properties/settings click on the 2nd monitor icon then hit the extend desktop to monitor.

Its a ****ing CAD card and a rendering card. People that make video games use those cards. They can cost up to 3000 US dollars.

You need to tell me what model it is.

              Go to Run/dxdiag.
under the display tab it should have it listed.

Sounds good. CAD cards can do more then 2 displays at once If i remember correctly.

I haven't run it yet cause I'm not using that machine yet...but I know it's got the annoying DMS-59 output type...maybe it's an NVS 280...but honestly that's a total stab at the dark...we will see soon.

Eww yeah, its more than likely an NVS285 if its a fairly newer machine.

Sounds like you could have gotten it from a workplace, maybe one of your parents was able to bring a machine home or something.

Those are lower end models used for heavy 2D work. So if you want to game on it you are out of luck until you upgrade.

Mainly found in HP machines. If you wanted to upgrade you could very easily. They use PCI-E buses.

Starcraft would work im sure, but more modern 3D games probably wont support a CAD card.

Just spend like 100 bucks a get a decent GPU from Newegg.com
