I know for a fact that photoshop 10 does this automatically when you save it using the tool "save for web and devices". Any version prior to that has always caused me a lot of trouble with color matching. :(

in photoshop you can change the mode from RGB to Indexed and you can define a palette manually or have it make one automatically.

You can probably save the palette to a file, set the mode to RGB, paste and do whatever else you ened to do, and then set the mode back to indexed with the palette you load back from file.

Me too, until I realised that that would mean it's displaying Steph's votes as 01, but the woman next to her as just a single digit.

Me brains been rather out of it since the short circuit happened. Slowly it's coming back. My short term memory has taken a wallop though but it's getting better too. :)
