Seems like a CD burning problem. Have you been able to burn CDs before this? It's also possible that Microsoft's CD burning program just plain sucks. I would recommend getting Nero Burning Rom, but that's only because I use it. Instead, here's a potential freeware program that I just found, CDBurnerXP, found here: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/CDBurnerXP_Pro . The folks there recommend only burning CDs with though since there seems to be a problem with DVDs. Choose the Data CD option when you're ready to burn, that's what I assume it's called anyway, and put that $SystemUpdate_[date].zip bugger on that CD! Good luck!

I wish I had a Xbox 360...

That sure is strange there. Are you using a CD-RW? If you are, see if you can erase the CD before burning again. Oh wait, I just found something, check this link out for better instructions: http://anonym.to/?http://forum.teamxbox ... p?t=487500

Looks like you will be to extract the folder and place it on the CD. Unfortunately, there seems to be no answer about the "mixed media" error people are getting. There are just people reporting it but no one seems to say if they ever got it fixed. Those bums! Anyway, that dude says that a DVD would work better, not sure why though; again, no answers as to why.

If possible, try getting a free Silver account and plugging your 360 to the internet somewheres.

Re: Xbox 360 Help??????

For the ethernet cable, plugging it into your router should do the trick. What kind of internet connecting doo-hickey did Virgin Media give you? There should be a modem in there, or it could be a modem/router thing that I got before. If your router has NAT support, it'll be easy-peasy. If you need to forward ports, according to the Knowledge Base Article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908874]Knowledge Base Article, you'll need to forward the following ports:

UDP 88
UDP 3074
TCP 3074

I'm still a little confused about Wireless and Wi-Fi terminology, I should Google them. Anywho, if the Wii I have is any example, you'll have to set-up something on the Xbox 360 to access your router, or whatever it is that lets you go wireless, and it should act like a normal ethernet connection. After you get the wireless thingy for the 360. Microsoft doesn't mention anything about that: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/connecttolive/xbox360/connectionmethods/wirelessconnection.htm]Xbox 360: Connect to Xbox LIVE. So I could be wrong...dead wrong!
