Microsoft gives free Zunes to delayed orders

    http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20 ... ayers.html

Apparently, Microsoft underestimated demand for their new Valentine's Day Zune. As a result, some players might not arrive in time for V-Day.

So what do they do? They are refunding everyone who receives their player late in full, and letting them keep the Zune that arrives late.

This is why Microsoft > Apple

It's about time they did something decent and admitted that they may possibly be able to afford to lose a little bit of money.

There; fixed that for you. This is not the first time Microsoft has done something cool like this when they screwed up.

First I've heard of, but I guess that shows how much I care, really.

I was referring to the years of charging too much for substandard software and integrating shitloads of "authenticity verification" and proprietary bullcrap that I have to wade through whenever I want to install/setup and sometimes run certain open source programs on this MS box of mine.

But what you've actually done is point out how much they screw up.

What the shit are you talking about? Charging too much for substandard software/hardware? Are you ****ing kidding me? When you look at Apple and Microsoft, it's clear who the rapist is. Apple hardware is some of the most ridiculously overpriced, proprietary shit I have ever seen. And somehow they think that every time they add another tenth of a percent of a number and a fancy cat name to their operating system it justifies spending money to upgrade again. Mac OS X 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, etc... ****ing ridiculous.

Also, what the shit are you talking about? Computers aren't video game consoles. You don't have to download applications that have been "signed." You can run any unsigned code you want on them. I have never had any problem running any program that I want to under Windows.

            I don't give a shit about Apple.
Just because Apple sucks, it doesn't mean Microsoft doesn't.
