I sprt of have a soft sopt for 50s music. It probably has something to do with the amount of times I watched "Grease" as a child.

I tend to base my musical preferences on whether I like a certain song, rather than it's genre.
However, the genres I listen to most and relate to the best are soul, pop, rock and dance.
I like to have emotion, escapism and a good beat in the music I listen to, which I can always find in those genres.

And, pooky, I think PM means hardcore with guitars. Not hardcore techno. Though hardcore with guitars was actually born out of punk, so it's more like punk than metal. I do like a lot of hardcore punk stuff. And hardcore techno.

OK, The Cartoons was not what I though when I read "technobilly." Despite that, I LIKE IT! Official Sleepwalker seal of approval.

The Giving Tree Band is also win. I wanted to check them out just from their name. That's one of my favorite children's books of all time, by one of my favorite children's authors of all time. But yeah, they're more folk, really nice to listen to though. Thanks for the recommendations!

Yes, Jocund is an oldies fag. Music was music back then, even the manufactured bands (Bay City Rollers and the like) had some really good songs. Not to mention that I think the songs were catchier back then. I can be found more likely humming "get down, get down, get down" than "papapa poker face"
