A campaign to declare the mass destruction of ecosystems an international crime against peace - alongside genocide and crimes against humanity - is being launched in the UK.

The proposal for the United Nations to accept "ecocide" as a fifth "crime against peace", which could be tried at the International Criminal Court (ICC), is the brainchild of British lawyer-turned-campaigner Polly Higgins


Supporters of a new ecocide law also believe it could be used to prosecute "climate deniers" who distort science and facts to discourage voters and politicians from taking action to tackle global warming and climate change.

Hmmm I can almost see this being useful if it was like a gross offence to the environment, or if you were just doing it to be a dick. Like walking outside with a few dozen cans of areosol and just spraying them all.

Speaking of distorting science, "global warming" is already a part of "climate change". Global warming may also cause an ice age by warming up certain ice sheets bringing fresh water into the salty sea. Which is why it's more accurate to say climate change. Global climate change to be exact. Speaking of more distortions of science, it would be a good idea to actually prove that humans are the cause of global climate change before making a law banning ecocide, and claiming they are doing good. Admittedly, by the time we do find out humans are causing a global climate change, it would be too late for us. Assuming we don't take the precautionary approach where we do try to clean up the environment anyway.

Don't know what to belive about this, realy...all I know is people should walk or ride bikes more then they ride cars or motor-bikes, they should use the recycling system (if they have on in their town), and they should stop littering in green areas 9like parks, forrests, and agricultural fields).

What amazes me is that they mention climate deniers so called suspect data but what about those climate provers who had their documents leaked showing they fudged the data to show there was temperature increases in the past 10 years when in fact the temperatures have remained stable.

I think that regardless of whether or not global warming exists, we should all still do our very best to conserve our resources and not pollute.
