    Reading stuff vs watching stuff

What do you prefere out of these informational/lesure activities?
I also wanted to ask people about somethnig.
So I hate reading. I have ever since childhood (although my folks read me all sorts of cool literature). I don't like it, and I can't concentrate enough to read more then 1 page.
I have plenty of interesting books I could read...what do you think, should I just stay the way I am, or should I change my personality and start reading?

Re: Reading stuff vs watching stuff

I've always wanted to be a magical reader, like in Inkheart. I want to read people in and out of books and captivate people with my words.

I voted for reading, but I really like movies as well (unless they don't stay true to the books they're based on).

I've been toying with the idea of doing books readings for children. I really want to make them see the fairies, feel the rocking of the boats...you know? Make them believe in it.

People say I read aloud really well, except when I'm uninterested in the passage--then I stumble over words. I've also been thinking about recording myself read aloud so I can practice. I did that in a British accent yesterday and was pleased with the results.

I definitely prefer watching movies but I enjoy all of them, especially science documentaries and horror novels.

That's really kind and sweet, I'm sure they('d) enjoy it.

You'd actually be interested in hearing me read aloud? And in my faked accent?

            Haha, actually it sounds like a cross between Aussie and British now that I've listened again >>;

Of course 'it's better to read'. People who read a lot tend to look down on poeple who watch movie versions of that book for example.

But, reading just takes too long tbh. What takes like a day to read I could watch in like 2 hours <,<

Supposedly reading engages the imagination more, because you have to read carefully and picture what happened. And if it's presented in film form a seeing person doesn't have to visualize the scene as much. It's right in front of you---but it can still be hard to understand movie plots.

I think movies can be every bit as artistic as books, but personally I prefer art books, science books, and documentaries. Imagining how a cheetah moves is one thing, but there's lots of value to actually seeing it happen.
I seriously need a new sig. Will try Photoshop later.

                          Reading strengthens your brain synapses.

I believe that it does. But does it more than watching a captivating movie?

i learn more stuff watching some documentary than reading a book.
considering the book is covering the same material
