A while ago, I went to Office Depot and purchased a new computer desk, task chair, and chair mat for my room.
First, I allowed the parts for the desk to sit in a secluded spot in my room while I was downstairs watching all of the episodes of Lazy Town for approximately two days straight. Usually, I would have worked first and then played. Because I had finished all of my work on FutureSoldiers.com, I planned to use the time to reward myself before I went back to work.
When I felt that the time had come for me to assemble the desk, my step-dad asked me to help out with some home improvement at my grandmother's. That was frustrating for me, but I decided to tough it out and then work on the desk.
Fast-forward to me finishing up my paint job on my grandmother's garage. I walked up to my step-dad and said, "Okay, I feel like I'm finished painting."
He said that it's okay for me to leave for today, and then he brought up the desk again. I said, "I planned to assemble the desk after I finished everything I had to do at grandmother's." He confronts me about it for a few more moments. After that, I happily ride my bike back home, get some ice and water in a glass, and calmly use the instructions and parts to assemble the desk.
Fast forward a bit. The desk itself is finished, but details here and there have been difficult to complete. Shortly after, I assemble the chair, but I had trouble using screws to get the back cushion connected to the J-bar that holds it up.
By now, things have more or less been occurring as I'd planned: I knew that I could do it. Since I didn't have a deadline, I felt like planning things out differently than usual, which messed with the minds of my parents, so the joke's on them!
Anyway, I went back to Office Depot to ask whether I could get someone to help me out with the parts I was having trouble with. Apparently, you can only get people to assemble the entirety of a desk, rather than small bits here and there.
I guess it really is like Stephanie tells me: There's no use in crying. You gotta keep trying.

Has anyone had difficulty with furniture assembly? If you did, what did you do about it?
