I'm from the Philly suburbs on the Pennsylvania side, really close to the Delaware River. Some notes on the local accent here:
-The word 'water'. Most people here say 'wooder', but I happen to say 'wahter'.
-The name 'Mary' and the word 'marry' have distinct pronunciations. In many other areas, 'Mary' and 'marry' are pronounced exactly the same.
-'Horse' and 'hoarse' are homonyms, in other areas there is a pronunciation difference
-When describing a group of multiple people, people often say 'youse' or 'youse guys'. I prefer 'y'all'.
-We don't say 'Joisey', but 'Jehrsey'.I seriously need a new sig. Will try Photoshop later.Comment

I'm from North Jersey...We're not like Central Jersey at all. Jersey is a lot like California if you think about it, split up North/South/Cen. Southern is generally crap (not trying to be disrespectful...it just is ), Central is mostly Italians from NY/Staten Island (where the Joysee accent came in), and Northern is the most cultural diverse area in the state (atleast the town I'm from is..)
I don't have that Joysee accent, but when I moved to Arizona, I was told by a lot of people I have a Jersey accent...I don't think I do  .Comment
