Haha, what a jerk! So, he's going to pull down AKM to build a mosque on top? Really? Jesus Christ!Originally posted by Hürriyet Daily News[Erdoğan] also criticized those who called him a “dictator” for the excessive use of force against the protesters in Taksim.
“[They say] Tayyip Erdoğan is dictator. If they call one who serves the people a dictator, I cannot not say anything,” he added.Ceterum censeo puellam roseam fraudulentam esse exstirpandam- Translate

Re: Did you hear that?
I've seen articles, pictures and news feeds from folks in Turkey. Sounds like a peaceful protest started out at a park slated to be demolished to build a mall. The government sent cops in with riot gear, who proceeded to use tear gas bombs and water canons on folks. Several people have died, many wounded and the area has broken out into riots between demonstrators (now denouncing current government leadership) and state police.I heard about this on UK news, something about a religious regime and a park? 1700 people have been arrested though apparently.

I dunno, sounds like a gross overreaction by the part of the government. Not good to incite a mass of people either. Smaller groups of people can engage in civil discourse (to resolve an issue) most of the time. Large, unhappy groups though..not so much. :(Life is a journey, time is a river and the door is ajar.
