It's because for the last 5 minutes the player is stuck on the same bit of the second level, and the commentary guy just ran out of things to say about it.

My mistake. I was remembering a comment where someone said the repeated attempts can be edited down for time. I think it was to give the video better flow to it. Anyways, that's what I was thinking when I read you post.

I saw that around two months ago! It was a totally random click on something, and pressed play (it was embedded in some empty page so there was no summary or description) and when it started, it got me giggling and in no time I just couldnt stop laughing. I watched the whole thing in lolful disbelief. Then I visited its host page on Google and saw the summary about how he just added the commentary and wasnt actually playing, lmao. Love it! I used to play old NES / SNES / Gameboy Mario all the time back when (early 90s!), my thumbs would be sore for days ;P
