I've been thinking about names lately. We all have them, and they help form other peoples' first impressions of us, to some degree.

For example, my name is Katelyn. And I absolutely hate it. At the time, my mom thought she was being 'yuneek' with the spelling of it. As it turns out, that spelling is now the most commonly used. As a result, my name is ugly, more common than cheap dirt among girls my age, and impossible to spell too. I'd almost rather be a Gertrude.

Officially my name is Daniel but my usual name is Danny. I'd prefer just Daniel cause 'Danny' sounds like a little kid. There's nothing wrong with 'Daniel', it's an okay name.

My name's Jim. James, actually. I like it, it's not very common I guess.
A bunch of people call me Jimmy. Nobody calls me James.
My middle name's Alvin. Yeah.

Another James here. growing up, my mum always used to call me jamie, while I always preferred to be called james. I don't mind it now but only the closest people to me will actually get a reply if they call me by that name. James is an extremely common name amoungst my friends and I so a lot of people I know call me by my last name, Castell. My middle name is Henry, which was my grandfathers name who died before I was born. I like every part of my name, it is the best name ever. Also, to mt knowledge, I am the last Castell in my family bloodline

Name: Fredrik. Can't shorten it to Fred or Freddie cause I live in Sweden and our phonetics are messed up.
I don't really mind it, but it's not the best I could think of.
I would probably keep my name nontheless.

There's nothing wrong with a little random humour. What, is the internet supposed to be serious business now or something? I didn't get the memo.

And I wasn't serious about the Gertrude bit, by the way. I do like the name Mildred though. I think names from decades ago have a sort of charm. I particularly like Zelda (a popular name in the 1920s), but that name is too strongly associated with the Princess of Hyrule now.
