    Question about the CDM-8945

Okay. This is a strange topic. It's about phones. Google has failed me, and I don't feel like registering at a cellphone forum for one question. I got the new, sexy Verizon CDM-8945. It does pretty much everything I need, except I've yet to figure out one thing. Is it possible to set recordings as a ring tone?

So, if anyone else has this phone, or an answer to this question, It'd be nice.

This was a long shot, but I want to set LazyTown songs as my ring tone(s), and dammit, I'm gonna! And I'm NOT paying to download them either. I'll record them myself.

    Thanks.

Hmm. I need to get a USB cable anyway. But, I'm not s 1337 h4xX0r, so that may be out of the question.

No. I already tried that. Well, not that exactly, but I sent a recording in one of those fancy PIX/FLX/TXT things to myself, and it just saves it in the sounds area, which is separate from the selectable ring tones.

It's annoying. This is supposed to be the newest phone with all that fancy shit. MP3 playback, VCast, Video Recording... But you can't save your own ring tones... great.

I guess I'll have to get one of those USB cables, and use mad h4xX0r skillz. Or a program...

Do you have (or access to) a computer with Bluetooth?

Your phone should have bluetooth on it if its a new model therefore you can send the Mp3 to your phone that way.

I always did like hunting for information about cell phones and how to customize it. :)

I haven't done a complete search, but here's what I found out. This phone does not support Bluetooth (:(), no USB as far as I can tell (still need to verify this), and you need one of those tiny memory chip things called a TransFlash memory card to store or transfer stuff to your phone. So it might be possible to transfer MP3s with the TransFlash card thing and set them as a ringtone. About setting recordings, I saw a post somewhere saying that you have to save as a ringtone, but I think that had something to do with getting an attachment from a message. Maybe it'll work the same way?

Hey, I just found this link:

You can connect your cell to your PC via bluetooth and then alter a playlist file, so your phone won't be able to make the changes and when it sees the song, it will think it is an actual ringtone. Then remake the playlist file.

              Wow, Verizon really sucks.

              T-Mobile wins again lol.
Rofl T-Mobile blows. Worst coverage, most dropped calls and shitty phones. The only good thing they have is customer service. Cingular is the best overall (don't know how it is now that AT&T took it back over).

                Wow, thanks nindanjoe.

That's a lot of stuff. I've already Googled around a bit, and I found some stuff. I'm going to check out some of this stuff too though.
