Hope for America? Noggin and new LT episodes

    http://www.viacom.com/NEWS/NewsText.aspx?RID=1039771

Noggin is going to be splitting from the N into its own channel. Anybody think that they might show more LazyTown with their expanded time?

Considering they couldn't even bother to mention LazyTown in the article, while listing other shows...

        Re: Hope for America?

I'm seriously considering writing a letter to LTE asking them if it is possible for them to pull the USA broadcasting rights from Viacom, since Viacom hates the show so damn much. Maybe Disney would be willing to take it?

Anyway, when I read the thread title, I thought it was going to be about Ron Paul holding a press conference about LazyTown.
I seriously need a new sig. Will try Photoshop later.

As much as I hate Disney, that's not a bad idea. It could even air on ABC then, just like it used to air on CBS.

For some reason this makes me wonder if it would be even more interesting for RuPaul to hold a press conference about LazyTown. Anyway, when I read the thread title, I thought it was going to be about that Miss Teen USA thing last night.

No, they wouldn't. Maggi would never allow it. As long as he can find some distributor other than Viacom, I'll be happy.

Aye... Americans just don't like being healthy... or anything oriented around that idea. Food=money=US economy. That spells doom for Lazytown.

                    Re: Hope for America?

Considering that you have to go to the sidebar on http://www.nickjr.com/shows/index.jhtml to get to the page, and the fact that for the past 2 months when the program guide says lazytown is on, something else is for my cable, perhaps not. When's the new season coming out?

P.S. I think I even saw it air at 4 AM somwhere....who the hell would watch that?? (main targeted audience at least)

                      That's honestly not it.

It has everything to do with Viacom buying a product and not knowing what to do with it. Look at Nick Jr. It's mostly animated shows. LazyTown is live action, and they only have a few of those.

LazyTown should be picked up by another station, PBS perhaps.
Good point. It would probably do good on PBS! It's IS a public station, so that's a plus. I reguarly watch a program on PBS (Cyberchase) but it doesn't do too well because it was intended for an older audience. I think that Lazytown falls into the right age group though.

                        Re: Hope for America?

Well, remember the creators of LazyTown are trying to cater their episode material for the parents who watch the show along with their kids. So I'd assume there's some more adult humour in addition to the morals of each episode's story.

Yeah, like the various references in pixel tv, I doubt many kids in the target audience would get them.
