Chem, I don't take notes. More specifically, I only take notes if I don't understand something well enough to remember it. So basically I don't take notes. I wish I could show you some notes from middle/high school though with all my stickman doodles. They were awesome.

From your notes, it looks like if you're having a keg party, rxn goes forward and there's lots of free energy.

I'm taking a class about object oriented programming and GUIs that I probably won't get much out of, since we're using Java and Swing. I already know Java, and Swing sucks.

I'm taking a database class where we'll use MySQL and PHP. So that's cool.

I'm taking mathematical foundations of computer science. Always nice to have a math class.

Finally, I have software engineering. Looks like it will be more of a pain than anything, but we'll see.

Oh yeah, I'm also doing an independent study in advanced data structures.

WHOA! How'd I get so far behind on this thread? Anyway, Luigi12, I can't even imagine not taking notes! You must have a great memory or a great sense of perception. I find my notes help trigger my memory into remembering what I was thinking/understanding at the time I was writing it. I'm very much a muscle memory-type person. If I write it down, it helps me to remember it better, just because of the way my fingers moved. Hard to explain, really.

Anyway, if you ever DO take notes, be sure to post 'em!

You're taking Environmental? Lucky son of a gun.

I got landed with Physics, and I hate it.

We have a teacher who's infamous throughout the school for having unrealistic expectations, never teaching the subject matter, and almost everyone who goes through his class comes out with a C or lower average. No one has ever gotten an A in his class, and a B happened only a few times.

After we took our first test (which was: 'describe the processes of the flowing of a river, the transfer of students between classes, and a car traveling towards a red light using physics terms') we got a tonguelashing, he said he was disgusted by our lack of effort and ignorance of the subject matter. And everyone failed, of course.

He went on to say that we did "much worse than my freshman physics class, who I'm actually teaching the subject matter to". No, I kid you not, he actually said that. DUH, of course they did better! You're actually teaching them!

And the kicker? We all got Needs Improvement with 'Needs To Do Homework' on our interim reports, but all of us turned in all our homework! That isn't the problem, we're all very good about doing our homework and doing it well. He should've just said 'Low Test Scores', which is the truth.

I'm in this class with the Top 25 students of my grade, and they're all having heart attacks because this class is tainting their precious GPAs. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Oh God, that must be agonising.

I still wonder if I'll study a science in the senior years. If I was, I'd probably do Biology, but I don't know what to expect.



Also, what's "Environmental"? I've never heard of it.
