    Has your day sucked as much as mine ?

    Has anyone had a worse day than me ?

    After having to tell a staff member that her mother had died, my afternoon ended with me being sacked for sending a joke email to my team.

    This year has sucked so much, I spent half the year in hospital, I'm totally broke, 2 cats died, I had to sell 3 of my horses as I couldn't afford to keep them, and my hubby had an affair whilst I was sick.

    The only upside was I discovered Lazytown.

    Has anyone had a worse year than me ?

    Well... sounds like you've had a pretty rough time. I also know what it's like to have a loved one do something so awful. Don't let this get you down, okay? I mean... when bad things happen, you can either make the best or the worst of it. This is where you have to make a decision! Until then, just chill out, don't stress too much and eat lots of icecream. You have my prayers! I hope everything turns out for the best.

    Also... in the case with your husband, give him a second chance. ESPECIALLY if you have kids. Everyone deserves a second chance, despite how much they've hurt you. You can either show him kindness or anger. I don't know if you're a Believer, but in most religions it is taught to treat other as you would have them treat you.

    Of course, if he does it again, you gotta get rid of him. That's when they think they have free reign to do whatever they please, knowing that they can always come back.

      Personally I wouldn't give the husband a second chance, but I know nothing of your situation. It just seems to me like he's pretty low for cheating on you while you were sick, and I wouldn't want to share my life with someone like that.

      (Then again, I grew up abused by my father so I find it very difficult to trust a man.)

      Okay, moving away from that subject...

      Matt's right. You can handle these challenges, there's way too much more to see in life to give up just yet. And hey, maybe this is happening for a reason and you'll find a job that makes you happier and some good friends.

      Just plan things out one day at a time, projecting too far into the future will only make you sick. And don't forget that if things aren't working out, there's always a way.
      I seriously need a new sig. Will try Photoshop later.

        ponycat....
        i think you and i could join the BOO HOO LIFE SUCKS club. just you and me.
        it consists of crying, watching lazy town and eating great gobs of ice cream.....

        a lot of board members know my last year and a bit has been incredibly tough both physically and emotionally as i've not been well. some days i feel like i am sliding back down that hill again, but i am trying desperately to hold on.

        that is something you will need to do.....find something or someone to hang on to. Lean on those who will support you without judgment and toxic advice. Keep people in your life who keep you laughing or make you smile.

        it sounds odd, but Lazy Town saved me from depression a long while ago. If i had not have found it, i doubt i'd be here right now. I'm not sure i would have been able to pull myself back from where i was.

        Then after that, i became very ill with what i am suffering from currently. So ya. Life can suck.
        And at times like this, it's keeping yourself sane that's the hardest part ;)

          subconsciously failing school?? really????
          that's not funny, it's weird.

          are you truly afraid to go to college?

          let me tell you, college is WAY cooler than high school. i loved high school (even with the crappy days), but college was great. So much more freedom and learning. :)
          It's a big adjustment, but it's one of those times in your life you'll remember the most :)

              the only advice i can give is: don't keep horses. they cost loads to buy and maintain and they will just die on for no apparent reason cause they are damn stupid, stupider than humans!

              my aunt keeps horses. every one shes had has died within 3 years and they always buy another one. my aunt is constantly depressed. now they are having money problems and her husband has just been diagnosed with lung cancer(he doesnt smoke).

              in closing;
              horses = death and depression.
              unicorns = love.
              dont confuse them

                When I was little, my mom used to tell me that unicorns are real. I used to argue with my classmates that they were real and they would make fun of me because my mom said something like that. But I still believed. And aybe I still do today.

                True story ;)

                  Sorry to hear about all your woes Ponycat. Yeah life for some of us was not meant to be charmed like others are I guess. I still say there is such a thing as a luck particle or something in this universe along those lines. But yeah, life sucks yet at the same time it's an incredible ride in our short time in it. Not much more I can offer in the way solace just that I have been to pits of hell myself and am all the better for it (I think).

                  All I have left pretty much are my cigs, memories and music. Maybe one of my most favorite tunes will help lift your spirits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbDb8yITvhI

                    Thanks everyone for your support.

                    @ Ban Sanderson. The joke I sent was a picture of a table that was for sale on ebay, with the caption "how can you tell this table is for sale by a man?" In the photo, in the background was a reflected image of the guy taking the photo of the table for ebay, unfortunately he was nude. It wasn't sexual, and everyone in my team are adults with children so chances are they have seen a naked person before. Anyone who knows me on this forum knows I'm a total prude and don't indulge in any dirty business.

                    My union has put in a claim for unfair dismissal, as the normal protocol is to give a warning (which I wasn't), and I'm currently being paid not to go to work whilst it's being deliberated, so I get a little holiday. And my staff (all 40 of them) went on strike on Friday, which I thought was very brave of them and made me feel happy that at least my staff like me even if my boss doesn't.

                    @ LT Girl. Lazytown has certainly saved me from depression and worse. I don't think when Magnus created the show he was aiming it at saving 30something year old women from a void of despair, but it's a fortunate side effect.

                    @ Dawnstar. I have patched things up with my husband, and things are going well in that area. We've known each other since we were teenagers. Again, Lazytown has helped there ! Because I'm a happier person, dancing the bing bang and singing rather than being a depressed emo, my husband has not felt the need to get away from me. I think unicorns are real too, but I've also found that sellotaping an empty toilet paper roll on the forehead of a mentally retarded pony can also do the trick (see below for explanation).

                    @ CJVercetti. I hated college, but the college I went to was a horrible souless skyscraper in the middle of the city, especially designed to suck the joy and enthusiasm out of young minds. I later want to another college and it was good fun. Could you maybe look at taking a year off and working or travelling ?

                    @ Boredjedi - awwww - Legend is one of my favourite movies. Thanks .

                    @ Mosheddy - I totally agree about horses, they are money pits that die. I sold my big horses, and now just have my Shetland ponies, which are as tough as nails and can't be killed with an elephant gun. i did also keep my Dwarf Miniature Horse Maggie, because I adore her. She is deformed, and mentally retarded. The fun you can have with a deformed horse the size of a Labrador who takes the short bus to school well and truly makes up for her vet bills. (True story - the vet bought the place next door. I think it's so he can be closer to Maggie, as she must be his main source of income).

                    Thanks for all your support :)

                      Oh, so the joke was about reflecto-porn. I read an article about that a few days ago.

                      I hope your union wins the case. That's really such a minor issue compared to other jokes that employees make on the job.
