    Lazytown inspiring adults ?

    Hi,

    I'm new here :)

I thought I'd give you a rundown on my LT experience by way of an introduction, and to see if anyone else out there is as weird as me.
I'm 37, female, married, no kids and live in beautiful Australia. In December last year I developed a bone infection and had to get my hip joint removed. I spent several months in hospital, where I discovered Lazytown (being played on Nick Jnr). I have become utterly hooked on the show.

I know this show is designed for little kids, but it has had a huge effect on me. I've stopped eating junk food, now eat apples (whereas before I would never eat one), exercise, and strangest of all have cut right back on my alcohol consumption / boozing. I've lost 15 kilograms, and dropped three dress sizes. Magnus Scheving has done what Weight Watchers could not. Oh, and I brush my teeth a lot more now too.

My question is, does this mean I have the gullibility of a 5 year old ? Have any other adults changed their eating and exercise habits as a result of this show ?

I think Robbie and Sportucus are both too hot for words, and Stephanie is adorable. My favorite character though is Stingy, he's the best.

On another note, they only show the first 10 episodes in Australia. I've bought all the US and UK DVDs, but there are still heaps of episodes I haven't seen. Not fair !

Anyway, I've gotta go as 'Secret agent Zero' has just started. I go back to work next week after 6 months off, I'm going to get LT withdrawals.

Lazytown has greatly influenced me as well, after I started watching I started living more healthy and generally having a better life. Many other shows are much more shallow, but Lazytown really has an effect on those outside its targeted group.

I always eat a lot of candy now, thanks to Ziggy
I take everything I see, thanks to Stingy
I play practical jokes and pranks, thanks to Trixie
I play tons and tons of video games, thanks to Pixel

Actually, I haven't really changed my eating habits, since I already ate alright before I started watch Lazytown, not the best, but not bad. And I go outside to play 4-square with my friends, brother and his friends haha, 4-square for life! We had some intense games of 4-square

            Rockband is awesome!

Same :) LazyTown has definately inspired me, I've even taken up some training in tumbling and gymnastics. I do a minimum of 75 pushups a day (and rising!) and I definately eat alot more fruits and vegetables now. I even turn down unhealthy foods and candy.

And I'm only 16. It seems that LazyTown can influence anyone of any age, really.

Oh, and welcome to Get Lazy! You speak of LT withdrawal... Well -- We've got tons of music and episodes for download -- Withdrawal? What withdrawal? Enjoy ;)

I really love the show. It always cheers me up; it's so colorful, everyone's smiling and optimistic. There are only two things on the show that I don't agree with:

                1) Robbie's classification as a villain. It might be my comic book upbringing, but to me a villain is always planning death and mass destruction. When you read that Robbie is a villain, you automatically think of him as this evil person, when he's really not. He just doesn't like those kids being so ****ing noisy all the time, which is understandable I guess. He's more like the "old grandpa neighbor" of the show, if you want to put it that way.
He's also way too funny and likable to be considered a real villain.

                2) Sportacus subconsciously tricking kids into eating vegetables by calling them "sports candy." I know it's really nitpicking, that was always weird to me.

i'm 18... i definitely eat a lot more healthy foods now, and i know that's just from watching LazyTown. although i don't usually sleep at night, i take more time out to sleep these days (i used to sleep as little as possible). i try to move and get outside more as well. eventually i might get to the exercising point, lol.

and maybe it does mean that we have the gullibility of a 5 year old, but in the case of LazyTown there are some really good benefits to that. :)

I always shout at him when his malicious schemes fail.

I dunno. I haven't really watched a full episode but from what I have seen it's only made me lazier than before. :)

Well it's a long story but I'll give you a short one. It wasn't that long ago that I realized what lazytown was. I don't have cable so that's out of the question. The only store here in NYC that I was able to locate that carried it left town. Tower records to be precise. They seem to be going just for the online business. I found a place where I can dload the episodes just recently but I seem to keep crashing my computer.
