    103 - Sports Day (widescreen w/ US audio) [350MB]

Edis suggested I create separate topics for each encode, I was worried I would be spamming the forums. Although I have to admit, things are easier to find when they're like this. Like with that animated GIF topic, it was easy to find!

These were created from the UK DVDs. I got rid of most of the blended frames, and edited the US audio to fit with the video. The AVI file has 2 audio tracks, the first will always be the US and the 2nd will always be the UK one. I hope you'll enjoy this!

Feel free to ask any questions! By the way, I also have the subtitle files for these episodes if anyone wants them.

That would be cool (I like watching things with captions, I often accidentally tune out dialogue despite perfectly good hearing), but how does it work?

It's good to meet another fan of captions! I usually have it on because the voices are hard to hear sometimes, probably because my house is noisy.

I have them in SRT format, so if you have CCCP installed already, you're good to go. If you don't, you'll need to install DirectVobSub, and this site makes it easy to install: http://www.inmatrix.com/zplayer/formats/vsfilter.shtml *. After that, you just need to have the .SRT file to have the same name as the episode you want to watch. Here's an example, if your episode's file name is "LazyTown - 101 Welcome to LazyTown.avi" then your subtitle file (in this case, SRT) will have to be "LazyTown - 101 Welcome to LazyTown.srt". Which subtitle files would you like?

*This is the harder way: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/DirectVobSub.htm

Uh... I haven't downloaded any of yours yet, I just wanted to know. I'll ask for the caption file for that ep when/if I do, OK?

Actually, the subtitle files is compatible with any encode, as long as the times are the same. Like if at 1:00 Sportacus says, "Apple!" for my encode; and for Skootch's encode, he says that at 1:00, then the subs will work fine.

In that case I'll take any you've got, please. I've actually got all the eps you're offering, I'm just in the middle of deciding if it's worth DLing yours (and which ones) based on the quality of the ones I've already got.

Ok, let me go get them. There are slight differences between the US and UK episodes, so the subs won't be in sync if you try to use them for the other. If you have the episodes from the US DVDs, then things will be fine because I extracted the closed captioned data from them. The timing was off for almost all of those extracts, but I was able to fix it in a general way. As a result, the timings will be off by +/- 1 second for each line.

For the UK ones, I did fix the US subs to match the UK video too, except for New Superhero, some minor problems with that one. The quality of my encodes is only ok when compared the US DVDs. When I deinterlaced the UK video, it introduced a lot of artifacts. Whereas with the US DVDs, you don't really have to deinterlace it, you just do a little Forced Film or use Telecide and it's all good. The US DVDs are more clearer when compared to the UK DVDs; most likely because they had convert the source NTSC video (24 fps) to PAL (25 fps) and keep the same timing; there's even strange artifacts when I don't deinterlace them!

EDIT: Here are all the subs from the US DVDs, all 27 episodes:

I forgot to say that I was working on a x64 version of the UK episodes. I ran a few tests and it seems I can get the file size down to 288MB while still making it look good (I applied a smoother). These newer encodes will include both AC3 audio tracks and both US and UK subtitle files! There are some minor things to work out though, like there's a chance the subs won't be included.
