Yet another Sportafake appearance in the UK

Just came back from the Nick Jr Jump Up event here in Manchester, gutted because Sportacus was an imposter yet again. I think it was the same guy who stood in for him at the Sky festival here last summer but at least they had the real Stephanie - we didn't have any Stephanie.

And he was pretty much useless. He forgot what he was supposed to be doing three times, he had an ill-fitting costume, he didn't even try and mime to the two songs they played (No One's Lazy in LazyTown and Bing Bang) and he didn't do the Bing Bang dance either, apart from one tiny bit of it. Even the kids in front of us, who were about 4 or 5, said "that's not Sportacus" because he looked so unlike him. Bit of a letdown really - especially as it was advertised as featuring "... the stars of LazyTown, Sportacus and Stephanie", and we didn't even get a phoney stand-in for her!

Anyway, took a few pics, you can view them here if you're interested in seeing the Sportafake (please ignore the ones of my little boy looking thoroughly bored).

Oh and this is the one from the Sky Festival last year - fairly sure it's the same guy.

    Yeah it's the same guy.
I wish we had a way of knowing who will be at these events.

That's pretty disappointing, I can imagine a kid would be crushed. That woman up there with Sportafake is scaring me too, that'd probably have traumatized me.

I seriously hope he's not the one they get to do the LazyTown Live tour because if so I want my money back!! (we're going to see it in October in London). The whole was decidedly amateurish tbh.

You have to admit, whoever that guy is he is certainly fit ! Magnus is one in a million, it must be really difficult to find someone who looks like him, is as fit as him, and has his dancing skills.

The whole set up looked a bit slapdash. Just because the sow was for littlies doesn't mean you can cut corners.

Oh I agree, really it's about the character not the actor who plays him (well apart from me, I just wanted to see Magnus lol) but it clearly wasn't rehearsed which left them looking very unprofessional. The whole event was definitely slapdash although perhaps I was just expecting too much of it.

Her outfit was the subject of much discussion in the crowd I can tell you. And her knees, what's going on with those knees!!

                        Aussie and proud of it

I actually sat "g'day" and "crikey" all the time, which is rather funny considering my parents are soooo English (Yorkshire), and my husband's from Manchester.

i was there aswell, i was really disappointed that it wasn't maggi, my 3 year old son even knew that it was sportafake LOL, but the poor guy did try his best i suppose, just that he wasn't up to maggi's standards, maggi has a very unique way when he's moving. :)
