Then we'll begin.
Let me take you back to three months ago.
I was having some connection problems, as Xizer and NindianaJoe can attest to as they each witnessed my bitching that I was having trouble uploading certain files.
You see, we don't own our modem. We have a cable connection and the modem comes free within the cost of the line rental.
What this means is that when something goes wrong we can't just go out and do something about it and solve the problem within a day or two, oh no, that would be too easy. Instead we had to wait for Virgin Media (formerly NTL) to be bothered to come out and do something about it for us.
So after dealing with tech support way too many times we finally get this guy to come round and give us a new modem, which is at least (or should that be "at most"? Whatever, you know what I'm getting at) one quarter of the size of our old one - that's how old it was.
Also, around the same time, I was put on these meds that make me sleep too much, make me constantly tired when I'm awake and slow my brain down a considerable degree. (If anyone's thinking that I seem less coherent than I used to be, if my grammar drifts a little too far below par, or if I'm missing jokes and chances for innuendos that I would've once jumped upon, there's your reason. I'm certain that I'm taking twice as long to make any posts as I used to, but there you go.)
So, yeah.
By the time I got my connection sorted there was already a quite considerable backlog on here to read through, and it grew with every passing day, but I was waiting until I felt awake enough to doubly redouble my efforts and re-enter the fray.*
And that brings us to present day.
I hope you enjoyed that little story.
Now get back to work.
*Incidentally, if any of you feel at any time that I'm being a pretentious arsehole just let me know. It's seems like my method of choice for overcompensating the meds at the moment.
