That was a really bad card because I can't draw! I don't know why people were chuffed with it.

Really sucks. Here in America cards are common ways of saying "Good job, but I don't care enough to say it in my own way... so have a few bucks"
UNLESS you get an epic hand made card and then its just win. But no ones ever made me a hand made card before.

This year alone I've gotten 3 cards. 2 for graduating College and another just for the hell of it

I guess it's pretty much the same here, you can get cards for just about anything, really.
My mum makes her own cards at an art & craft class she goes to, they're really good.
She has this bag full of cards, because she can never decide who to send them to and when, bless her.

Ah cards...the bane of my existence.

Usually I get a bought card that I like because they're better at art than me, then I write a personal note and a few home-made scribble drawings on the inside.

And it's great that you're using that art style! I'm a loser who does bad anime ripoffs...the colored squares representing that taffy/toffee from the brush day ep was a nice touch.
