UK7 - Snow Monster Encodes (5/5 Done) [XviD and x264]

This one took a lot longer than I expected. The only one left is Double Trouble, I'm just waiting for the volunteer to have the time to look for the US audio. I'm being vague on the name on purpose since I don't want a repeat incident of a fellow user being harassed. Of course the person will be credited after everything is done.

These encodes will be in widescreen format from the 7th UK DVD "Snow Monster and Other Stories". The US audio is the first track and the second is the UK one. If you're wondering why it takes so long to get these out, then it's because I have to edit in the US audio and attempt to fix the audio sync issue. Even the UK audio from the source is out of sync with the video. Double Trouble presented with a double sync issue, some parts it is off by +80ms while other parts it is +170ms. If I decide to fix that, it will be quite the beast to handle. The English subs had to be sync'd to, oddly enough.

I'm glad this is my last UK DVD encoding (EDIT: Not the last one after all. :)), this one had me surprisingly stressed out. Onto the encodes (in order as they appear on the DVD):

You can use MD5Summer or WxChecksums to verify. If something happens when you download it or after it, then I recommend checking both the files sizes and the MD5 checksums of the files.

If you need any help with subs or anything, then don't hesitate to ask. There was once someone that complained about the audio, please refer to the guides placed throughout the forum. Or search for them. If you can't find them, then please ask here.

I don't know how often you check these boards, but I just wanted to say thanks for all the work you do encoding/uploading, etc.

There's a very good chance that many episodes of this show will never be released to DVD with the original US audio, so I might actually go as fair to say that this is important work you're doing. You are preserving an awesome show.

Thanks for the kind words, omorfos. When I first started doing LazyTown encodes I never thought I would get tired of it. After all this time, I am now. I've been thinking, and I'm not sure how I was supposed to not get tired of it. Very strange, I must admit. However, the encodes I do will probably be outdated in a few years if the LazyTown Entertainment company still exists then. Assuming the Australians release all the episodes, or when the Viacom license dies and Magnus can release Blu-rays of the entire series. So all is not lost, assuming things go Magnus' way again. :)

i've been watching close to both the same vids but encoded different, Xvid and H264, and I prefer the H264. Maybe it's my player but it looks sharper somehow

Of course they are different. They are different codecs. x264 is a much better codec than XviD. XviD is the past, x264 is the... present.

Finally got the Double Trouble encode finished, thanks to SportaKandy for giving me the US audio! Finally getting the US audio was like finally getting a rare artifact after following a few dead ends. Sort of happened with the US audio for Double Trouble, people said they had it but never uploaded it, and disappeared from LazyTown forever. SportaKandy delivered!
