She was 34 there. Came to stardom relatively late for a New Waver. Odd that their breakthrough hit was a disco song.

Yeah and before the music career she had become a playboy bunny while she was working as a waitress at the NYC Playboy club.

                  The short version.

I quite liked that album. One track sounded like it belonged on the previous Eat to the Beat album. Same sound.

A tinge of the supernatural and the eerie on some of the tracks.

Was watching some of the videos for Blondie at CBGB around 1975. Quite rough imo she hadn't found her style yet.

Also, not Blondie related but I've had this song and accompanying music in my memory and can't quite focus and pull out
what band or the song. Think it was late 80s and in black and white. All I can do is pull a snippet. I can see the snippet vaguely but can't hear it. Most annoying.
Been trying for days but the memory just hadn't kicked in yet with that AHA moment. Could take days more or months or never. heh
I do remember I really liked it.

Unfortunately nope. Haven't heard that one in a while though.
The music video was done in a warehouse or barn and there was no color palette which is why I'm thinking it was done in black and white.
Would be nice if the memory could replay some part of the song but it's not. Just a snippet of the video. It's very annoying and it's going to keep bugging me. 😄
It'll probably be one of those routines where I'm not thinking about and randomly out of nowhere it all comes flooding back. I know I had found the music video years back on youtube.

While doing this research didn't realize that Duran Duran was still active
                        Recent cover of Psycho Killer

Odd video. Keeps looping a small piece of footage. Implies a low budget. Frankly I never liked that song.

I have listened to some of their more recent albums but didn't care for them. I might try to listen to them some more, but they just seemed mediocre. I hate the hip hop influence that started I think with Meddazaland. It takes a really good song like Big Bang Generation to overcome it.

Hate the hip hop inspired opening synths but the song gets better as it becomes guitar dominated.

I think most of their later songs don't overcome this influence. A case in point is All You Need Is Now, which like Big Bang has an awful opening sound (and crappy singing to boot) but a decent chorus.

Five seconds in I knew I wasn't going to like this album.

55 seconds in you finally get some classic Le Bon pop songwriting with the chorus and the bass and guitar dominate, but it's painful to get that far. Could have been so much better without that crappy synth line.

Blondie has the same problem, they keep trying to make albums, but I just roll my eyes when I listen to them.

I haven't heard this album that Psycho Killer is from, not surprising since it is brand new.

                          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danse_...n_Duran_album)

I have found most of their covers disappointing, mostly because I did not like the original songs to begin with. Their Thank You album was full of songs I did not know and, ultimately, did not like, White Lines being the big exception.

This is an example of a Duran Duran song from the last album of theirs that I really liked. It's a great song, playful yet sinister. Unfortunate it did not get any airplay. But I am not sure if the kind of stations that play their kind of music even exist anymore.

Yeah the newer stuff meh. The recent album from Duran Duran is mostly covers like Paint it Black.
They did a cover of Bowie's Five Years a few years ago. I didn't listen to it. It's not their style of song.

I was in the supermarket just before and this song came on. This is like the third time I've heard it in the store.

They were in my backyard and I didn't know heh
Kinda looks and sounds like they are just phoning in the performance.

Oh yeah that recent album with the covers also has a dark theme to it
Like it's a Halloween targeted album

This song does sound like their old stuff

As for radio stations, I have no idea what stations are still around or what they still play.
Been so long since I tuned to any radio stations here. The only time I get exposed to radio
stations is when taking a road trip in Pennsylvania to visit the relatives and the shifting stations
                              as we hit different regions.
