It’s a good ban but the thing about the ban is that it isn’t logically thought out much for the privacy for the people older than 16

But kind of the parents mistake for giving their child their own phone at 9-12 years old even at 7 at some cases. Like what did they think is going to happen (I wasn’t given a phone until the first year of high school. Plus I walked to primary school without a phone every day. So, why should they have a phone in the first place.)

If they made a social media account on a computer or tablet it’s quite different as those devices are easy to get parental control on or mostly family shared especially at their age

I meant I walked to primary school by myself without a phone since the age of 9-10ish

Here’s someone outside of Australia reaction to the ban

Skipped to 3:31 to the part and ends at 19:55 before he switches to another topic

Here’s someone kind of joking about the ban but with good points

We don't have a ban here and I don't think it will come. It's discussed but our liberal government don't want it. It's up to the parents and schools to decide. There has been some movement lately that comes from the parents themselves though. There are social groups all over the country, which parents can join, that are against the use of smartphones under the age of 12. This creates areas where almost no children under the age of 12 have a smartphone, and therefore no longer use social media. This has to be done collectively, otherwise it won't work. This really has to come from the parents themselves.
Magnús: - I have fans of all ages and I don't think it's weird when older people like LazyTown. LazyTown appeals to people for many different reasons: dancing, acrobatics, etc.

Yeah, the US is not the best place to live (for countless of reasons)

Anyway, it really more the parents fault than anything. I had a friend say “The reason why the ban is happening and kids are dying is because their own kid doesn’t trust them” (for example they know their parents will jokes about it and ignore it). Also, on the 60 minutes channel one of the parents did the most fakes crys I ever seen. Yet they given their 11 years old kid their phone back even after they found out their kid was to talking on Snapchat to strangers and guess what happens next… 🙄

Well, when all you hear is news about the US having retarded presidents, childhood obesity in the US (which is why LazyTown started anyways) and school shooting it makes you really think:

              This country sucks.

I know the 60 Minute channel for having reliable, informative information. Most of the report they made about Jackie Chan was correct info.

60 minute channel is the best when comes to documentary not going to lie. It’s the 11 years old girl’s parents that bug me so much

Can you send me a link to that? I wanna see how unreliable it is.

                  That's the JC Documentary.

I'm assuming the movie clips are ripped from Australian VHS releases of Police Story, as the clip they used featured the score of the 1986 export version, which coincidentally was on the Australian release of Police Story.

Oh, funny, 'POLICE STORY' was released as 'POLICE STORY 2' in Australia. Haha.

I just read that again. Those parents are mental! 'Oh, man, our kid has unsupervised internet access & talked to a stranger!'

... Hey, Sheryl, let's give him his phone back. What's the worst that could happen?'

Finally, 2 people who agree with meeeeeeeee!!!

I can’t believe the premier believes these people or unless he is getting forced too. As in these fake people will not shut up about social media (In all honesty they probably post their kids on Facebook and say that the public can’t see it but they can)

Something else. I don't think the government thought much about the negative impact this law would have.

I speak from experience when saying the internet helped me connect with people I otherwise couldn't have and seriously helped me when I felt that no-one could see me for who I was. This was especially true since I lived rural.

I can't imagine what kids in my situation can do now that the internet isn't available for them. It could destroy there mental health. Drive them to suicide.

Same here as well, though I don’t live rural. The internet’s videos to describe how to do a math problem like probability, mean/median and etc, is much better than most of my teachers teaching it. Since I have a disability when it comes to learning

2nd try with quoting as I don’t know what I’m doing

Some of my hobbies involve being on the internet. This can take kids like me's creative drive away.

I like drawing web-comics. Coding websites, editing videos, writing scripts. Editing images.

I can't do that without the internet

True and I just became administrator for another show’s wiki page last week over on Fandom. And I can’t afford losing it all after all the hard work I put in even on YouTube too

I know you can’t afford to lose most of the subscribers and the views after all your hard work just because of idiot parents letting their child roam free with strangers (especially on Snapchat)
