2nd try with quoting as I don’t know what I’m doing
I get it completely. I have a learning disability, too (SLD - maths and writing)! The internet was a huge help, and still is. Surely the law would make exceptions for education, although I haven't seen/heard anything.

You're doing well with the quoting, it's pretty easy to use

Real shit, spitting facts little bro

But yeah, you're right. All those hobbies of yours are pretty common for kiddos and it would be literally impossible without the internet.

Maybe I'm missing something but the law is about social media sites, not the internet in general. I don't think it would stop you from viewing a YouTube, just from having an account there where others could interact with you. I don't think it would stop you from having a website either. Or viewing math websites or anything else.

Frankly YouTube is much better without an account since you can use an ad blocker. For viewing anyway. I don't have YouTube account and see no ads whatsoever.

I grew up making comics, writing etc. None of those things require the internet. Nor does editing images. I learned to use Photoshop before the internet even existed.

The real world is a big place. Much bigger and more interesting than the internet frankly.

I used YouTube without an account longer than having an account and I still get a bunch of ads. I have used ad blockers before but it only works if I’m on chrome for me. The news articles and YT channels are making it confusing for whenever YouTube would be banned or not. I haven’t really heard a direct answer. It’s the same with Snapchat as well (the app that started this ban in the first place). Also, I’ve heard interaction games are not banned too (for example Roblox, Minecraft, COD, ect) btw I know that those games aren’t social media. I just wanted to add that in. For, websites not sure.

I don't think anything is banned. The companies have to make sure that people under 16 can't have accounts, as I understand it. That prevents interaction which is the goal.

I use Firefox with Ublock Origin and get no ads. Same with Chrome at work.

You don't, obviously. Uploading videos is communication with others. That is what the law is trying to prevent since YouTube has comments and direct messages.

And why should it be prevented? YouTube has moderation and there are abilities to literally block commenters.

Trying to block communication with others is just stupid. I remember a time when I had no school friends and life sucked because I was lonely and tons of interwebs friends and life didn't suck. This new rule was implemented at that time, I probably would have no friends until I was sixteen.

Maybe you don't understand the impact of this law - You're an American in your 30s.

What's the point drawing web comics when you can't publish them?

                Coding scripts and making videos?

All that stuff takes forever and it wouldn't be worth it if they delete it because I'm not 16. It's a dumb law.

I was commenting on the law's effects, you seem to think I am defending it. What I think of it doesn't matter. I didn't write it, or vote for it, or anything else. It's a law in another country. I could care less.

But in my youth I had plenty of real-life friends. I wrote stories, made comics, art. We shared with each other. I programmed games. No one saw them except my classmates. Not everything has to be shared with the whole anonymous world. One real life friend is worth a million thumbs, comments and likes from online people you will never meet. You will eventually realize that is true.

You've already posted here about online fights you are having with adults from other LT communities, someone from Facebook or Discord sending you inappropriate material, someone from YTMND being rude and offensive to you. That is exactly what the law is designed to prevent from happening.

I'm not mental, Chuft. I have real friends, I want to MAKE STUFF FOR THE INTERNET TO SEE.

And my friends don't like comics or reading.

I have talents. And I want to show them to the world.

Then make a web page. Nothing in the law prevents that.

That's actually the wrong law. This is the correct one, which just passed and so is still in bill form.

It's OK. Law is complicated. The one you posted is actually the old law that is being amended by the new law. At some point they will update the one you linked to incorporate the changes specified in the new bill. But the bill itself is easier for now to see what the changes will be.

Makes sense that it's an amendment, considering it's an act. It's probably still a good thing I read through the older law, so now I know what to expect, even though well be waiting a good year or so before the amendment takes hold. I might redo the post for the amendment

I'm hoping the law is similar to one you linked. I could live as long as I am allowed to own a channel
