Recently been binging comic advice

We finished watching Lord of the Rings - Rings of Power Season 2.

We were going to watch Alien: Romulus today (one of my Christmas presents, Blu-Ray) but Apple TV is offering a free weekend of streaming to everyone, so we looked at what they had and I noticed the recent Ridley Scott "Napoleon" movie with Joaquin Phoenix. I am interested in military history so we started watching that.

After my girlfriend left I realized it never asked us whether we wanted the theatrical or the longer director's cut. I had to search around and found the director's cut on there. So that is annoying, tomorrow when we pick it back up we will have to rewatch some of it to see the extra scenes. Fortunately the first one is about 16 minutes in so we can skip the first 16 minutes. Then there is a lot of extra footage.

The director's cut is 205 minutes long instead of 157 minutes. It has more Josephine scenes, which my girlfriend is interested in (I am just watching it for the epic battles) so we will have to watch most of it. Might be possible to skip some minutes we have seen after the initial 16 but it would take careful attention to the movie and an article about where the extra scenes are.

The free Apple TV ends after tomorrow so we will have to watch the entire thing tomorrow afternoon or lose the chance to see it for free.

Ridley Scott likes to make these really long movies. Kingdom of Heaven had a really long director's cut, 194 minutes, and this one is even longer.

I can't comment on how much you would enjoy it, but if you like the og alien (as everyone should), don't watch Romulus. I watched it in the movies, and it was so dull. The effects are great as was the acting but that's about it
