My girlfriend wanted to watch Independence Day: Resurgence, so we just did. I was expecting it to be terrible, so I wasn't disappointed. I've seen worse. Like Morbius.
Recently we also watched The Great Wall, and Sinnners. Sinners was a much better movie though the gratuitous "kill all the white people" scene at the end felt tacked on, reminded me of Lovecraft Country. The Great Wall was more or less your standard modern special effects driven B movie about monsters/aliens/whatever (Aquaman was perhaps the worst of these I've seen, though Valerian came close, and Jupiter Rising was also up there, or down there, in terribleness).
And of course we watched the excellent Cast a Deadly Spell. Think I've mentioned most of these in the shoutbox.
I get search results for Sinners whenever i search up anything about the 1983 Sammo Hung comedy 'Winners and Sinners'. At this point i'm just calling it what Golden Harvest does - 'Five Lucky Stars'.
Tickets for sinners were super expensive near me. I hope whoever bought them enjoyed the movie, and some day I'll see it.
We watched Fantastic Planet, an animated French film from 1973. Very psychedelic and obviously influenced by the 60's psychedelic culture. Quite refreshing after the stream of profanity- and explosion-filled American films and shows we have seen of late.
I was thinking about watching that movie again. Been awhile.
Star Trek has been around since the 1960's. I am not sure what to tell you. What have you seen from it? It's a large franchise at this point with a lot of shows and movies with different time and place settings. I haven't seen anything near all of it myself.
