Re: How fast is your internetz!?
7 years later and my internetz speed is tripled.

Re: How fast is your internetz!?
You have fiber-optics, right?
My town only has about 15k residents, and fiber is not available to your everyday man yet. This is about how much I will ever be able to drag out from ye' good ol' coax cables.
I normally run my connection at 50/50mbit, but for the sake of this test, I went ahead and tweaked the connection to the max download. It's nice being able to download entire HD movies in a couple of minutes, but I would much rather give some of my download speed for the sake of others.
Also, my ping seems to be quite bad in this one. I have no idea why it chose a server in SΓΈnderborg. I normally play on Stockholm servers, and get a ping about 10ms.
I'm as sneaky as can be. None's sneakier than me.- Translate

Re: How fast is your internetz!?

Nothing has changed in one year. I requested an upgrade to 500Mb, maybe next month.
update: that's next week

Re: How fast is your internetz!?
Lol. I wish I could share a bit of mine with all you LazyTown fans. Although I see a lot of possibilities, like an online LazyTown radio station?
So how's it in the rest of the world? I have no insight in that. Speed and how much you pay for it.MagnΓΊs: - I have fans of all ages and I don't think it's weird when older people like LazyTown. LazyTown appeals to people for many different reasons: dancing, acrobatics, etc.- Translate

Re: How fast is your internetz!?
The internet in the US is totally ****ed up. We are having a serious issue with ISP monopolies. For example, there are 2 ISPs that I can get in my area; Comcast, and CenturyLink. The highest download speed offered by Comcast in my area is 200Mb down at $60 - $70 per month. I'm not sure about the up speed. I can check that later, but it sure as hell isn't 930Mb! The highest speed offered by CenturyLink in my area is 40Mb down for about $30 per month. Naturally, we have Comcast at my house, and one of my roommates works for the company, so we get it for free.
BUT! There's this new thing that ISPs are doing here... data caps. Data caps are a terrible idea for consumers, and these companies are only allowed to do so because of a lack of competition. Comcast has a 1TB up/down cap per month, and you get charged for traffic outside of that. You can only get unlimited traffic if you pay more. In Comcast's case, it's an extra $50 per month. Even though my roommate works for the company, even he can't get this for free, though he does get a reduced price of $40, so that's what we have.
There's a new ISP called Ting that's building in my area, which will have gigabit connections for $89/month and without data caps. Once its infrastructure is built, we will likely switch to that.Like Toy Soldiers- Translate
